Default MTX-4 OR HPI R40 Hara Edition

I've have read a couple of post in the official R40 thread but I just need to know which one should I keep and the sad part is I've never diven any one of the cars before because I didn't have an engine to race any of them. So can I get some opinions from the drivers of these car and tell me the pros/cons of these two.

there is competeition....r40 is NATIONAL champion (Hara) but i would advise you to say just get which ever car has the best parts support in your area. which will probably be hpi, because their parts are simply everwhere

i like hpi, but parts tend to be more expensive fore it, but i would go with what everyone else uses in ur area.

i hear that the r40 is a tank compared to the mtx4, but i'd personally get the r40 just because they arent as popular out here in NORCAL- everyone has a mtx4 or a V1rrr and a handful of serpent 710/720s. i got the ofna gpx4 just to be a lil bit different. all of the above cars are highly competitive and i dont think that one would have more advantage over another. its all in the wrists...

i've never owned either, so take my $0.02 as a grain of salt

hmmm i think i might go wit hpi because i like there style better the mtx-4 is a nice car but for the simple reason it came with upgrades to make ur car ready to race. The only thing wrong with hpi they keep putting out kits for the same car alot of times w/o the good stuff so they can make money off of you.

what about the ofna cd3 pro? what do you guys think about it? i was attracted to it because it looked like a simple layout and it has drive shafts instead of belts. is it good for racing? i was hoping to compete at my local track..........

thanks

Quietstorm I used to run the r40 but then eventually i began driving the kyosho RRR, stock the r40 just took too many hop ups too keep up with the competition. Go with the mugen based off these facts, it has better parts support than the r40 in the area, The mugen has a better clutch system, you can get more help from other racers with that car, and also the drivetrain and overall weight of the car has less weight and less rotational mass than the R40. In case you did not know, there is a permanent on-road race track in brooklyn, which is always open. It's in Floyed Bennit field off of Flatbush. Also why is your camera reversing all your pictures.lol
