Side venting exhaust is something I think is retarded in the RC car world. All it does is vent exhaust all over your rear right wheel if it doesnt' just get pushed up into your body coating the whole inside of the car with gunk from the exaust and all the dirt and dust that gets inside. Why is this configuration necessary? I know there are conversion kits to get that exahaust out the back, but why do you have an exhaust port on the side of the engine instead of the rear? Just seems like it would simplify the hell out of it. I don't like spending an equal amount of time cleaning my rig as I do running it.

My temporary fix was to take some RO piping and fix it to the muffler exhaust and make it so it vents out the back. Yeah there is a little loss in power, but I'd rather lose a little power then spend all that time cleaning the exhaust crap out of the car. I'm a parking lot guy I don't race or anything

i did the same thing man, dont feel bad about it haha, the reason pipes arent coming out the back is that there would be too many bends in the header, but if you thnk about it if you have a rear exhaust engine, all you need is one bend in the header and then you have the pipe, and the pipe will be located like the tsais silver bullet pipe, except without the ridiculously long header

are you asking why there are side exhaust engines or side exhaust pipes? if you are asking why side exhaust engines, then space issues, some engine placements are too cramped for rear exhausts, as for cars, get an exhaust deflector is you think it is that bad, as for rear exhausts off of the cars, nobody usually does it because all fo the suspension components in the way, it is much easier to remove exhaust parts when they are on the side and open instead of in the back and winding through the car

Not forgetting to cater for pull starts and electric starts.

once again, it isnt too clear on what you are talking about, are you asking why engines have side exhausts or why the exhaust comes out the side of the car
