Default Best asphault/ parking lot basher tires?

I just got and rs4 18ss, which will mostly be used for parking lot bashing, with my friend whom also got an rs4 18ss. I want to get a new body, along with new wheels, but im not sure what tires would give me the edge over his rs4. I believe that stock rs4 rubbers are referred to as x-pattern or something of that nature. What would you recommend for some high-quality asphault tires?

Pitty to damage foams. Slicks will do the job or Kyosho curved radials are even better for parking lots. When you go to play on asphalt (parking lots) you should also have the enjoyment of sliding a little bit. 100% grip has no fun for me.

I use my stock rs4 tyres for parking lots. After a tank or 2 of bashing they seem to loose grip for some reason and sometimes starts drifting haha. Foam tyres are good too but they will wear away faster and slowly get shredded if the surface is rough and uneven. I keep the foams on the track and radials for the street

They probably lose grip because of all that oily nitro exhaust getting all over them, at least that's my theory.

HeLLsGoD: I do exactly the same. Foams on track, radials for fun. And that is why you loose grip (I had exactly the same problem): those tyres have no grip at all when they get warm enough. The reason is that the middle surface of the tyre tends to easily bend to the inside (comes closer to the rim very easily) and they produce poor downforce towards the asphalt that produces poor grip. So the only surfaces that produce traction are the outer ones (the surfaces exactly above the glued rubber and only). This fact in addition with the oil from the exaust that usualy goes directly on rear tyres makes no traction at all. The first time i tried to run my 18ss on track was with stock tyres... i thought the car was crap...you see when you are used to run a v-one RRR (I own one but i no longer have time to race on tracks so I'm thinking about selling it ) you want to smash the stocks with a big hammer when you try them. Finaly when i modified my 18ss and I started doing better lap times than the .15 power modifed FW-RR's!!! RS4 is a great car but its weaknesses are the factory radials and the factory suspention settings. Just change them and the car becomes a nightmare for almost all stock cars around when on track. (I HAVE PROVEN THAT MAKES BETTER LAP TIMES THAN: 4tec .15 and 4tec3.3, FW-05 and even FW RR(!) when modified, thunder tigers, avoracing touring and tuning models, GV and CARSON. I have run against them at athens FRT track and patras ELME track).

Hy again Gynaikas,
Thanks for your reply concerning the fuel line on the other thread. Could you give us some advice concerning the suspension settings ? I don't have much experience concerning this type of settings. I'm sure many begginers here would appreciate to hase this kind of infos. I remember you spoke about yellow springs. But the kit springs already have a yellow mark on them.
Thanks,
Flo

Define what tyres you use and if you have an EVo or 18ss (forgive me i dont remember...[]). Tell me what shock towers you use (stock or carbon fiber set) and a short description about the place you want to run (If parking lot the asphalt condition, If track the type of track for example if it has narrow or wide corners) ad finaly if you use one way diff or not. Post your your answer to our thread that i daily check (my thread about problem reports) and tomorrow I will make a basic setup for you to start.[8D]

PS: also tell me if you use sway bars or not (rear and front).

any tires in particular that u recommend for parking lot bashing...i've got the stock x-radials and they do nothing but slide all over the place....we've set up a track where we run, and i'd like to get better traction...esp around those corners. thx ppl

Kyosho preglued semi slick 4-tyre set (white wheels) is the best there is for 18ss when bashing. I have always one with me. There's also the best when racing at rain cnditions on track (my personal best combination for any type of 1/10 on road when things get rainy). I even used them on my vone RRR when we raced at the usually wet FRT Athens track.
