RE: AE .15 vs OS .18 CV-RX...Which is better?
I've been trying to decide on the replacement engine for my NTC3 when the trusty AE15 takes a dive. I'm thinking to go with the LRP Z.18S Pro spec, especially since it's a "drop-in" and is priced very reasonably. I've read nothing but good things about LRP motors. My second choice is the O.S. .18CV-RX (S). I'm not racing so "outlaw" is fine with me. I don't know how much use you can make of the TZ's extra power in this car. I think if I were racing I'd go with a good .12 like the RB or ???
I've actually been pretty happy with the AE15, it's not a bad motor.

Better than the 18CV-R?
I read somewhere that the CV-R was tested and won for the most powerfull 0.18 side exhaust engine

I recently dropped my old .18 cvr back into my nitro tc3 and might I add i call her old faithful....she started right up and let me tell you all the power is there that i had 1.5 years ago...yes the motor has been siting up for that long...i purchased a tz and had been running that but i got tired of trying to tune it to perfection and also decided i wanted to test my ol faithful out again so i took it out.
I dont know about the LRP but i will tell you this the O.S .18 cvr will be purchased again if i can ever kill the one i have now lol.

the differences between the too engines is so large you will not believe! The .15 ae engine is good when well tuned but the .18 cv-r will kill demolish and destroy the ae engine in its performance. OS engines are very good and all my experiences will os engines are mostly positive. i had the .15 ae engine because it come with the ntc3 rtr plus and i learn alot with that engine (ntc3 is a great car). but the .15 ae engine isn't the biggest bang for your buck and the cv- r at around $100 is. i do not have the .18 cv-r but i have a friend that does and and i seen the engine in action and the conclusion is simple .18 cv-r up .15ae down
