I have looked at both the Nitro 4 tech, and the Hpi RS4 from the rs4 3 to the Evo to the SS kits, Hands down Hpi Has way more hop up option parts, than traxxas does for the 4 tec, I do like the Traxxas T-maxx but, as far as on road goes you would be much better off getting the Rs4, In fact I just bought the rs4 ss+ kit for myself off ebay....

I guess if you wanted something that didnt cost you that much money, that didnt matter how fast it went that you wanted to just piddle around with then you could go with the 4 tec, but if you want something you can hop up, tune and race the heck out of then go with the HPI... Plus if you like drifting they are pretty good at doing that also

If you ever plan to race it go with the HPI. I have the Nitro 4 Tec and i like it. It is extremely fast in a straight line and good for parking lot bashing and fooling around with but could never become a racer by any means. In a bashers stand point a like it and it's not bad for the price and if you don't care about handling it is good. And traxxas is not crap it is just entry level cars and i think they are very durable. But if you lwant a better handling car definately go with the RS4
