on the nitro star 15fe there is a lil notch on the sleeve, i think mine has shifted, what location should be this notch be at?

the little notch should line up with the pin on the block, this keeps it straight

There should be a tiny pin sticking out vertically from the top of the crankcase where the cylinder head bolts on.

THERE IS NO PIN AT ALL THAT I CAN SEE, ON MY OLD HPI CAR, THE NOTCH LINES UP WITH SHAFT THE ONEWAY BEARING GOES ON, THE CRANK I ASSUME.

Ok MSTSH80, when you look and see the little notch on the sleeve, the top of the crankcase (the regular metal that surrounds the sleeve should also have a little notch on it. Lien them up. If for some reason your engien doesnt have one, try placing the sleeve so the nothch faces forward (as in the same diretion of the crankshaft, the threaded shaft sticking out the front of your engine where the clutchbell, flywheel, ect attach). your going to ahve to remove your exhaust, and look in. you should see a straight port with minimu amount of the sleeves brass showing.

i just guessed and guessed right, and apollo im no idiot, there was no mark on my block under the sleve, i matched the exhause port uo, and that was it.
i had my head off and thats what got me into it, my sleeve is very loose, like no pliers were needed to take out, piston roatation alone moved sleve up.......what does this mean?

It means you still have compression on the sleeve that the piston pushes it up, which is a good sign.

i wasnt angry, i was a little irked because in the 3 pm's that he sent me he didnt send a pic after he said he didnt see the notch, thats all, but whoever posted the link thanks because i couldnt find it

i got a 15fe and there is NO PIN on the block i just line up the exhaust port

belive it or not the reson why HPI apollo sayed that was becuase there is litterally 4 or 5 diffrent versions of this engine and they are all called 15FE..... i personally have 6 or 7 of these motors (blown that havent worked in years) and almost no 2 are exactly the same.........i have one BRAND NEW never seen fuel in a body somewhere AND I KNOW 4 SHO its a 15FE and it looks nothing like any of the others!!

either way apollo cant help but be rude anyways but i thought i would clear that up
