If you're used to a stick type radio you should get a stick one...there's no need for you to get a gun type. Gun type will not make you faster...even Lamberto Collari (world champion) drives with stick type. So get what suits your style. (I also use stick type radio cause i find it more precice than the gun type and I used to it long ago so I kept that style)

I used to use stick for many years but switched to pistol. Stick better for throttle/brake control, pistol better for steering control. I'm glad I switched, I think pistol is the better for cars. Sticks (obviously) better for planes.

Well with the stick I drive more pecicely at wide corners than the pistol...anyway as I said it's up to someones style and skill! For example let's say we have the same car, foxy will drive faster with pistol than me and I will drive faster with stick than him. Get what you like and handle best.

I race the best there is, but not very seriously anymore, it's been a while since I went to a race, my job is taking over my life lately. I have an Xray NT1. It has only a couple of hop ups, as pure racing cars don't need any. It's running the Xray multi diff on the front, currently configured as a solid spool. Here're a couple of pics of my car...

Also, sorry I got so caught up in banging on about my car, I forgot to answer your questions... The 18ss is not going to win any high level races I'm afraid. If you are a really good driver you may have a chance in club races, but it's designed to be a medium position between a parking lot basher and a circuit car. Look on the bright side, I can't play with that thing (above) in a car park, it's low ground clearance and stiff suspension would just mean it's no fun, plus (like all competition level cars) it's belt driven 4wd, so can only be run on clean racetracks, little stones on car parks would eat through the belts after only a couple of runs.

PS... If it's any consolation, that car has nearly $1500 in it. Quite a difference.

LHS won't get the Zonda body yet. [&o] I'm an IT consultant and IS auditor for one of the 'big 4' consultancies, I just got promoted to senior associate and I'm currently auditing one of the largest companies in the world, adn my company's largest client (I'm not at liberty to say which), and the work is getting a bit extreme.

Matt, that car started off as a rolling chassis for about 550E (cars are more expensive in europe), the engine is an RB MatrixR .12 racing engine (45,000rpm), with matching pipe, the only hop up it has is the diff that I mentioned. The expense with a car like this, is in starter boxes, 2 x 80 dollar servos, tires, the setup rig that you see the car mounted on in the pit photo, and various other accessories which become necessary to race a car like this one. You can buy the rolling chassis from nexusracing.net for a mere $399 now, which is a real bargain.

It's a great car for both bashing and racing (sport class races). Stock is one of the best bashers...modified can make very fast laps when on track. HPI Drift tyres are good and will have the job done.

While decending your rear end might get a bit unstable but it depends on the road's pitch. I dont think that you're gonna have a serious problem with that.
