first of all, the sfgp2 can only go 40-50mph tops, so going 100mph would be insanely hard to control, second of all, fi you want to go 100mph, you have te wrong car, third of all, there are no off the shelf parts for the sfgp2 to go 100, a majority of the parts have to be custom made, there are so many things to do to get it over 100, if you arent a serious rc enthusiast with lots and lots of money to spend, dont try it

A gas turbine RC jet engine. Seriously, I don't think you'll get that car over 100mph. 100mph is quite a magic figure for nitro. In order for the car to stay on the ground at that speed, it needs lots of downforce. Lots of downforce means too much drag on the "not very torquey at high rpm" nitro engines.

In all seriousness, you're gonna need to cut metal off the chassis, shave weight everywhere, get a big block engine conversion kit, custom tires, custom gears, and the most powerful, high revving .28 engine you can find. B y the time you finished shaving off the weight, the car will be so weak, if you crash it once it'll be history. Getting a car to go 100mph is gonna cost you big style.

If I were you, I'd start with a more achievable goal, like 80mph, then try to get a couple of extra mph with each mod you make after that. I'm sure the miami guys will give you their opinions, they are the ones to ask, they've done it with one or two cars. Both HPI RS4 Racer 2s I believe.

Hi

I have had my Kyosho V-1-RRR at 100 and it was hard to do. I had to make a custom chasis to fit a JP R03 team edition .21 circuit engine and modify the back axle and gearing. The side pulleys were changed along with the layshafts so the side belt missed the engine. I took a look at the Duratrax and its not the right layout to be able to mod the front and back gearing enough for 100 but that doesnt mean it cant be done.

My evlova went 103 but that was with 3 engines and it was stuck in first gear!

LOL..

you used a single engine in the V-One? wow. 100 mph takes a lot of money and time to reach, and only a select few join that club, you might want to talk it out a bit with the pros, and usually, they only use belts, but im not sure.

DUDE [X(], you got a V1 rrr and an evolva. YOU MUST POST PICTURES. PLEASE, I LOVE THOSE 2 ESPECIALLY THE EVOLVA.

As for the thread, i try once on my PureTen. It was simplistic stupid. I don't have a photo to show you how it was. I cut metal plates and install a base for my GX-15 engine. Then, the spur gears as we all know is much more bigger than the clutch bell, right? I SUPER GLUE and screw a second same spur gear i had spare on the clutch bell, so the ratio it was 1:1. Itv was a really fascinating project but the results were FAIL. The result was: with the stock on the car goin at 40 km/h, then with my project i force it to reach a top speed of 80 km/h BUT i must tell this...it never touch the top speed of the engine, the rpms were very low and can't get more because the car was heavy in that speed it was running (80).

HOWEVER< I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THAT. THE ENGINE DIDN"T TURN OFF AT ALL

Like I said "It was stuck in 1st gear" It had a design flaw that stopped all 3 engines changing up to 2nd so I am re designing it with a 3 speed gearbox and possible a CVT

Cheers

The V-1 was 22/55 but the back layshaft to rear axle was changed. Instead of 22/44 i used a 5mm teeth belt with 14/14 pulleys.

All the pics and vids of the RRR and the evolva are here http://ziggy12345-myspeedattemptcar.blogspot.com/

good choice, its best to start off slowly, and eventually when you have time and money, make large scale output into it.

You definately not going to find such thing. Is 90% mine project. I only use a standard clutch bell and a spur gear. Then i add some screws because the super glue did not help a lot before i add screws. Stupid idea but it worth it. Just only saw that thing. It was insane. TOP speed without handling at all
