pros is that it is fast and can reach 65-70 MPH once broken in

cons are it doesn't handle well at all even with hop-up parts. Plastic CVD's break easily and there are no steel ones that you can buy. aftermarket parts are not plentiful. the price is too high for a car that only has a fast engine. You can buy a Kyosho Inferno GT which is an 1/8th scale car and will run pretty good for $360.

Make sure you check around before purchasing one.

Well It practicly can't hit 70mph...but yes it can do somewhere around 60+ easily. Everything that Brent Davis mentioned is correct. The IGT is the ultrabasher. If you want something fast out of the box go for an EVO+, FW-05/06 or NTC3...the FW corners slightly better straight out of the box but the EVO has raw power since it has the outlaw G3.0 engine.

What they said is rite but the 4-tec will blow the doors off both the r24 evo and the inferno gt, so go figure. And i got both the 4- tec 3.3 and the inferno gt.

TRAXXAS??? 4-TEC??? Man, you sure don't want to buy something like that. Everyone is telling that he can reach 70 mph. I agree with GYNAIKAS that it almost can, BUT the handle is just HORRIBLE. A friend of mine HAD IT ONCE (now it's in the boneyard, you know, there you throwing the rubbish). He couldn't find someone to buy it and he was VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH IT. He also had a Jato by the way, and that one had been sold by someone else who UNFORTUNATELY contact with my friend and he told him that the car broke(not the engine(break-in, but the car))

EVO is 100000000 times better than the 4-TEC (especially that model of Traxxas)

Many (i think) buying the 4-TEC because they see a BIG SHINY WORD "70 MPH". Is just ridiculous to judge the car only for this.[]

CAUTION: For issues of misunderstand, i wrote only my opinion because i see one and the guy who HAD it, is my cousin

devo208, man I really like that IGT you have. How well does it handle with foam tires and did you do that bearing mod for the 2-speed and replace the brass bushing? I am seriously thinking about getting a IGT soon.

BTW, I have 4-tec that did indeed reach 68 MPH but it too is sitting on the shelf. I don't speak on an item unless I can have hard evidence on it first hand.

Brent Davis I've driven several 4-tecs if that's what you mean. I haven't cloacked any but comparing it to other cars I believed it barely did 65 but I trust you so yes I believe that if yours did 68 then it can do 70 with proper adjustments.

No, no, no. I was just stating my personal experince and not directing anything towards you at all. I was caught up like everybody else with the glossy 70+MPH crap but to only get a car that doesn't handle well or have a good aftermarket support/supplier.

The problem with the 4-tec is you all cant handle it its a skill level 6 and you all are 4 with the evo. The 4-tec is much bigger then you all. Stick with your skill level leave the 4-tec with the PRO's.

Drifting with a 4-TEC? I don't know. If you want to drift why don't get a 1/8 scale which is going to be more easier...like an inferno GT for example. I persist not to buy the 4-TEC man.

I must agree Drifting with the 4-Tec is tough Maybe I'm just not good at it but it seems to have too much power. Mine keep spinnin all the way around when i try to drift turn.

but like i said Maybe i suck at driving it. LOL hey at least i will admit that. have only drove it 3 times and two of those were Break In.

And how exactly can you judge for all of us? You think that the EVOLVA or the RRR were easier than a baby 4-tec??? Well I had them and I also have driven the 4-tec 2.5...even that version was hard to control not because it has raw power but because the suspenssion angles don't help even when adjusted perfectly. If RS4 is lvl 4 then 4-tec is lvl 3 or less when on track. Man please, noone said it's a bad car but RS4's,FWs and NTC3s are always faster than 4-tecs on track.... Not to mention that an .18 tz on an RS4/FW/NTC3 KILLS the 3.3 4-tec...

4-TEC on the track? Don't make me laugh. This thing can't complete a single lap (ok, i overdid it a little but is my "want", so not buy such car, is just for laughs, seriously)
