How fast is the engine idling?

If it's idling normally then something is causing the clutch to engage prematurely - remove the clutch bell and take a look.

I think that your carb opening is more than needed or there's an air leak somewhere. The clutch bell is the the part that spins and carries the small gear on it at the engine's very front end.

Start simple and take off your air filter and see how far open your carb slide is. It could be in your linkage setup or servo setting.

Since it looks like a new car, start with the instructions! It should be covered in there pretty well how to take care of it. If not, do whats posted above and let us know.

Thanks Jeremy. I did this and noticed the carb slide was fully open, had the servo's set up wrong but everything's fine now

For future reference the clutchbell is the silver part in your section picture which has the smaller gear attached to it. All nitro cars have clutches.
