I don't have a speed gun, only thing I know we were doing 60 on my friends 1:1 car and the GT kept pulling away from us. my guess: 60/65 with the stock gears.
heres an old video, same engine, but with a single speed. http://youtu.be/oL3kOlMkR24

I'd like to schedule a GT race at this track in NY next summer.
One lap = 1/4 mile
What do you guys think, any takers? [8D]

That Ipanema body is a lame looking wedge IMO - something 80's-ish about it. The Alpha body is at least good looking and curvy.
Who in this thread even runs a DM-1 btw?

Still have mine, since 2008, just a shelf queen now, with the original 2 speed and clutch bell never stripped a gear and this car has taken a beating, don't know how some people are always messing up the tranny's.

Well to my surprise the wife ordered me a new engine - one I was hoping to get mostly for the DM-1.. Just arrived, and as I was switching the carb around, I saw the housing had a freakin' hole in it!! I guess Picco and me were just never meant to be...

Gents
The boys that made the twin engined DM1 still around. I'm looking at sticking in another engine to mine.
Wondering what they did for a chassis and engine mounts.

Maybe you should contact the “vendor” and allow them to opportunity to replace the defective part or refund your wife’s investment if you haven't already.
If you were able to have a good Picco engine, it might be the best engine you’ve ever had in your DM1.
Just some positive thoughts and actions could help more than giving up on Picco engines; they have won several World Championships. [8D]

Why do you bother writing anything directed at me? I couldn't care less what you say or think, and that's not going to change. Just saying - so save it.

By simply trying to offer “hersavage” some positive advice to help him, his continued rejection to even consider it merely shows every forum reader here of his irrational and vindictive mindset.
Good luck “hersavage”!
Karma rules supreme, doesn’t it? Lol

You posted pictures of an obvious defect in the Picco’s engine that your wife purchased for you in good faith.
Have you contacted the vendor of the engine yet?
How did they respond?
Since you “hersavage” took the time to post those pictures, wouldn’t it be a more positive approach to tell us forum members the final outcome was instead?

So, did "hersavage" ever get around to telling us all the reply from the vendor of that engine his wife bought him?

Rodondo, stop jumping on band wagons, stand up on your own 2 feet and stop being such a *****, in a couple of post's you'll be punking out (again), so just fade away if you have nothing constuctive to add here, lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.
