what killed the 235mm class?
hey i just picked up a serpent impact mt2 about a week ago from one of the guyz that stops by the shop once in awhile. it came complete with a rex .15 plenty of compression and the chassis is in great shape. well bak to the point, i dont see why they discontinued racing 235mm car in the USA because there really great cars to drive there very well balanced and incredibly power full with there .15 motors strapped to them even for a 8 year old 2wd chassis driving this car is very impressive and fun. can someone tell what killed the 235mm class??????????

well that kinda make sense but the 235mm cars were competition cars n i dont think the person would care which body would look nice on it as long as the aerodynamics agreed with the settings of the car and track but you got a point there lol

Thats about right Miami. They wanted to give you the choice of only 200mm or 1/8th. The new 220mm class is fast replacing whats left of the 235 class and its growing. Just get a set of 30mm/40mm tyres and a lola body and stick it on your 200mm car and race!!

Well, I believe its possible that this new GRP class going to replace the 200mm cars since they can handel the small blocks better. Its not much different from the 235mm cars as from what I can see besides 15mm difference. 200mm production may be in the same boat as the 235mm class in the future. just my opinion

yea ive heard of those 220mm conversion for the 200m touring cars i think im going to try that out if enough people at the track are racing them here in miami i know that kawahara makes a conversion for the mtx-4 and the kyosho rrr does any one know the price of the conversion cause i haven't seen the list price on any web site a link would be nice

I would like to see them as well, always interested in something new. I think the 235 class croaked because very few people produced them and not that many people ran them. The 200mm class is not going away anytime that I can forsee, simply because so many companies produce them and the competition to be the best is always driving the industry forward, and it is what almost every onroad course is made for. Back in the day people were running wide pancar, narrow pancar, the early touring cars, 200mm and 235mm. The Pan is almost extinct(a shame), wide pancars are ancient history(another shame), 235 is going that way soon as well. I think there were just 2 many different sizes and classes to keep up with, and to level the playing field, tracks and roar and companies and people in general settled on the 200mm class to keep the hobby going and keep it fair for everyone. With so many people leaving the hobby something had to be done, and this made the most sense. Thats just my view of what I saw happen though, could be way off. I hope the 1/8tc class takes off(infernogt, ultra gtp...)but it is hard to get any new class going these days.

A buddy I work with dug out some of his old R/C stuff and hes got an RC10L from at least 15 years ago, if not older. I compared 190mm and 200mm bodies with the body he has for his RC10L, (he has an old thunderbird nascar body) and it's way bigger. Does anyone think that may be a 235mm car?

wow [X(] thats old lol my friends' dad got and old yokomo not sure what model it it is but i looks like a pan car the cave men built lol but its pretty cool to see vintage rc cars. but the 1/8 tc class sounds sick cause those inferno gt handle really well
