Default 2 Questions

First, is there a better gasket? Mine keeps burning off and I have to replace it all the time.
I heard there is something at an auto store that you can get right?

Second, my car refuses to go high speeds. When I WOT, it gets stuck in the low speed range and I can hear the RPM just soar.
If I slowly bring my car into the higher speeds, then that problem only occurs occasionally.
The car will stall out when I brake hard, but I have already fixed it so braking doesn't move the carb anymore.
I'm thinking this may have something to do with the HSN? When idle, there is no smoke that comes out a little more comes out at high speeds.
Exactly how much smoke should I see when running the car?
If it's an easy task, I'll try to keep tuning it, but if I don't succeed, do you think it would be a good idea to take it in to my LHS?

Check my videos at youtube to see the proper amount of smoke out of the exhaust: http://www.youtube.com/user/gynaikas I believe that you have a lean HSN setting. Try turning 1/4 of a turn anti-clockwise.

Yeah, mine is somewhere around yours, maybe less.

I just remembered! I think the biggest problem is leaking... My entire chassis will be covered in nitro/oil after a run. I can't decide where it comes out from.
One point is where the exhaust comes and meets the engine, as the gaskets are of really bad quality. (Which is why I need a better one)
When I took the engine off and apart, I couldn't see anywhere else.
Two other theories of mine are inbetween the cooling head and engine, and just straight up somewhere in the engine.

I used RTV silicone that can be purchased at auto stores and department stores as well. No more leaking header gasket.

I heard there was an actual gasket that could me made too. I can't remember what it was or where though.
So you just put RTV around the section where they join or on the actual gasket?

Well, my old Vspec is leaking as well (not much but it does anyway) and i think is coming from the head gasket too, since the other gaskets are brand new now.

Now that I learned that there are more than one gasket... (noobie eh? ) I should probably say which gasket.
Ok, so it's the paper or whatever exhaust gasket. That is always burning off.
Is there a more durable and better performance one?

Oh, i see what kind of gasket you have there. Is that right? Of course yours looks like "paper"

Mine are like this: only are black, and below there is a [picture of in what exhaust system they are installed

Would you need a new engine to install that type of exhaust?

Mine's the stock G3.0 engine and it looks something like this. I really don't like the gaskets, they burn off too easily.

I'm afraid yes. The engines that wear those gaskets you have, are normal (very normal in fact). It's become rare to see such exhaust system now, except my 2 oldest cars i have but not running them, because they suck

I'll just hang with it for now, maybe get a TT-01 and then dump some money into another .18 or something for RPM later...
I don't really need much torque

You could either draw file the header pipe and exhaust outlet of the engine flat, or get a soft ally or copper gasket and nip up the exhaust bolts when its hot dont go overboard just a little nip.

Better than a 18 CV-R?
Not a TZ though?

BTW, with those gaskets, experiment with different brands etc. I had some which would break apart very quickly, and I had others which lasted for ages

That just makes it really hard to clean.
But you should see me drift it. Now that'll work if I really wanted it to
