RE: Too old for RC?
my lhs owner is over 80, and hes still the best pilot out there. Not much into cars, but you get the drift. He's awesome, he might not be able to do much, but rc is always something you cant lose. Get out there, and get your kid into it as well.

RE: Too old for RC?
I'm 23, most of the people I see racing in the class I do are a LOT older, I think because the cost of the hobby, it's not cheap and generally younger people unless supported by their parents don't race $2+k competition level RC's

Doubt if there's an answer for that. I'm 82 and been in RC since it's beginning Have no intention of quiting until the lid is put on my casket. I do believe that the younger generations have missed a lot though. I started model building long before RC came along and enjoyed all aspects of it. free flight rubber powered , free flight gas/glow, u control then finally RC as it is today. What a great way to spend you free time AND money .

RE: Too old for RC?
I am already in my mid 40's and still love playing/bashing with my RC's. I have 4 1/10th electrics (1-FWD, 2-4WD touring cars, and 1 off-road truck) , 3 nitros (1-1/10th touring, 2-1/8th off-roads), 3 electric planes. Started racing on-road touring cars when I was 37. I guess, there is no too old or too young for this hobby. I call it as PASSION for this hobby.

RE: Too old for RC?
Ive always liked RC since i was younger... Anyone ever see the movie called " The dead pool" i think Clint Eastwood was in it.
There was a part of the movie where the bomber used a nitro powered RC car (67 vette) and chased the guys aound before he blew the car up ( car was a bomb)
After seeing that movie when i was younger, ive pretty much been into RC.
I know as i get older my taste will change. For now, fast with wheels. I still like heli's and to me those take the mose skill (and money) to learn. So flying when im older is the next rush
Im 23 btw

You're never too young or too old. My 9 year old has been RCing for 2 years and I've been doing it for 23 years, we have an awesome bond when we're out there rippin it up. Of course my teenage daughter and wife think we are geeks but what do they know.

I've been racing and messing with RC cars since 1987. I'm 45 now and just built a new hybrid dirt EDM car to try at the dirt oval in Dundee NY....I'm calling it the "Termidator"....because the front part is Kranzels Terminator, with a direct drive Custom Works Intimidator driveline and suspension in the back...topped off with my old Bob McCreadie EDM body from the NORRCA Nationals in 1995......hehe

RE: Too old for RC?
the thing with life is that everyone put an age limit on things. if you enjoy something and love doing it why stop? do it until dont feel like doing it anymore. so my answer is there is no limit to rc'ing of you liek it keep doing it dont worry about age
