Here you go guys! Searched and found official cen specs of the transmission and engine...so stop dreaming of 70+mph...these radar guns probably cheat too! Here's the truth and the proof...bon apetit cen lovers! (engine specs: http://www.cenracing.com/cars/ct5/ct5.html , the rest are in ct5 manual!). That's not slow at all! But definately not 70+...

Next myth under test: 4-tec 3.3 and Fusion .28...I believe that the fusion is the true straight line king but we'll see...

plus I didn't see you factor in body drag or downforce so it may be slower than 53MPH[X(].

Just one issue I see... Wheel diameter is not 3.5cm. More like 6.5.

Well yes...But let's say 53...it's ok. The maximum theoritical using tallest gearing, bigger wheels and assuming that the engine can produce 35000 is 67mph! Not bad but far away from the dreams...the 4tec 3.3 does 70! I checked it. But I see some seriously tall gearings and I doubt for it's acceleration. The pico .28 of the fuson makes 33000rpm. I just need the 3rd speed spur and pinion and also the number of teeth of the parts U2546 and U2565.

Oh yes I mean radius. 3.5 is radius. So 7 is diameter. But everything in the formula is correct cause I use 2*pi*Radius = pi*Diameter so it's the same. In fact if I put diameter=6.5 -> radius=3.25 so that makes it even slower...

Hey GYN, good searching. that way, the guys who dreaming such speeds with cars out of the box can live in peace now. I got tired of these things. Once i see a big label "60+ mph" advertising for a car, I look elsewhere.

G-man the ct-5 is Cen,s dual final gear ratio car , with one ratio for onroad racing and the other for landspeed record attemps. The problem is with the link you showed I only see one final gear ratio the one for onroad racing what is the ratio for top-end, landspeed ratio attemps??? If you are using the onroad ratio that is why the topend speed is soo low. Cen has always had a problem misprinting their ratios. According to the link it shows 4.8 as the ratio for first gear??!! That is too tall for 1st gear . I think their booklet is full of mistakes beause their prevous year model the C-4 had a final gear ratio of 3.2 .

I don't care what they reported. If you give me the gear ratios I can find the truth! And nitrohead, all the gear ratios are from the CT5 manual and I can post pics if you like. There's nothing wrong with the numbers. Even with huge tires, the tallest ratios Cen can provide and engine revving at it's top rpm->35000 (impossible cause there's dair drag and frictions), it can't reach more than 67mph! Give my report to anyone wo you believe that knows physics well and you'll see that everything is fine proven!

Not faulting what you did G-man just pointing out that Cen's booklet gear ratio are wrong. And they never did tell us what the second dual ratio was. I don't think Cen proof reads their booklets. But if they were to put a good .21 size motor and good belts in it .

Wait wait wait!!! Don't be so simple to believe what a radar gun sais! First of all it's too easy to make a radar gun show more mph. Man does this car seems like doing 73mph??? Watch my videos! i assure you that my car can't go more than 58mph, and it is faster than the cen you showed me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9RdNopUibU). But just read my report carefully! It is impossible for the cen to hit more than 67mph even with cen's tallest gearing and engine reving at 35000 (practicly it can do up to 3k rpm less than that due to friction!!!)!!! Stock -> 53!!!
