Default old 4tec .15 ez start problem

My EZ start spins but does not turn over the engine. It will crank 1 or 2 times but not consistently. When is starts it runs great. I have a good battery and the ezstart motor is good. Any ideas why the engine does not turn over?

Loosen up the glow plug 1/2 a turn or take of the cooling head and see if the Ez start will turn the motor over. If it does then there might be too much compression (I hope I have this right). You might need to take a shim off or just start the motor with a slightly loosened glow plug but then turn it tight.

Or as turbodremz23 says, might be a bad OWB.

I do not think it is the compression. I think the bearing is the cause. I will start there.

check the one way bearing and also the starter pin if it the one way bearing. the starter pin is on the end of the crankshaft.
