Default ultimate rally build?

im looking to build a rally car made for that exact purpose
a street tuned car for some offroad action
what would you suggest i get to do so?
i htink im going to start the build off from an HPI RS4 evo+
any ideas for what i should do parts wise
cause all i can really think of is a bit bigger/ stronger suspension

Evo+ has ideal transmission system for rally game but you can't increase the ride height very much. Especially at the front.

Why put more height on the RS4? It's a 1/10 scale. If you increase the height, it will be like handling a bus Rally cars are bornt 1/8 scale

You can also buy HPI Super Nitro RS4 rims + rally tyres.
They are larger and will increase ride height. You can even put narrow off road 2.2 tyres on them which have a high sidewall to increase height even more

The HPI 3.0 engine is one of the most powerful. No need to change!

Unfortunately, there is not many people driving these things here, so we are just keep up with nitro. We don't have even a descent track.

I am building a drifter one of those myself. It started life as a peugoet exactly like the one nearest the camera in the photo. It now wears a police painted Dodge Viper body. I took it out for a little test on Sunday and stripped the gears in 46 seconds flat. lol. Here's the vid...

It's the exhaust smoke, not the tires, unfortunately. Real burnouts would be cool. Good luck with your project...

I say go with the HPI, I actually built one of these and it is quite a fun car. Plus parts are cheap and easy to find for HPI cars.
I ran the two speed in it for a while, but it kept breaking dogbones whenever I was jumping it extensively, so I swapped out the two speed for a single speed slipper clutch. I lost top speed obviously, but it's much more controlable and it hasn't broke a dogbone since. I also run the Super Nitro Rally front and rear shock towers, and HPI mt front shocks on all four corners. You have to do a bit of trimming on the C hubs to get more down travel out of the front suspension, but it's pretty minor. You might also want to consider CVD's up front just because of the extreme driveline angles you be experiencing, dogbones and drive cups will sometimes bind under those angles, or even worse, the dogbone will fall out.
That's my 2 cents for now, let me know if you have any questions, maybe I can help you out some more.

Here's a few pictures of mine.

Ultra gtp2 dirt oval chassis-189.00$ Throw in a 2 speed tranny, radio gear, engine and body and you are all set for some serious rally game fun. Had mine out today on pavement and then drove it through 4 inch high grass over to the lawnmower racing track(hard clay, dusty)and had a blast on the dirt. Is way to cool on the wide sweepers on the track, loooonnng drifts, then the straights are long and fast when the track is not so dry. Also fun to set up a rally course using orange cones from walmart. I try to set them so the course is mostly pavement, then cuts through a baseball diamond or gravel road for a ways...The courses you can set up with these cars is almost endless.
