Guys you have too look at the weight that each engine wights.

19tz weight is 12.1oz devide by 2.4hp = 5.04oz per hp

18tz weight is 7.8oz devide by 2.28hp = 3.42oz per hp

I think I did it right, if im right then the 18tz mod is better.

But then you have to look at the rpm's too.

nitrohead, you already have a bad .18 TZ on the V1RRR. What's the problem mang? Hey did you ever get with that guy to make those shafts for you?

I too LOVE the RBmodded 3.3 engines. Rick is in the works of making billet pistons for the engine now to go along with his billet rod. My 3.3 engine was just as quick/fast as my friends modified .18 TZ to the point of I beat him 3 out of 3 top end races......we swapped controllers and he beat me letting us know that the modified 3.3 is a beast. I will say that Rick turns my drag modified 3.3 engines into a 5 port sleeve.

Here's a video of one of my RB mods 3.3 engines in a CD3.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u7gtgyvR5c

Here's the new billet rods that are made for the 3.3 engines by Rick Brake of RBmods.

Here's some crank stuff that he does

Here's the dual head button installed along with a TM523 8mm carburetor.

Here's the aluminum crank for drag modified 3.3's that are serious.[X(]

Pic of a billet rod/piston combo compared to a stock rod/piston

another billet piston shot.

Brent you know me I am not happy unless I have a project to work on. The money I had saved up for my BIG project I had to give to my wife to repair her piece of junk Chevy this is the last Chevy I will ever own. No I have not contacted him yet because I will be broke for a little while.[] But one of the after market manufactors that I use to test parts for made me some dogbones that are ok for the small block I currently have in my MCD. But if I put in my Twinn I will be getting in contact with this Gentleman to get some superduty dogbones made. Man your 3.3 engine is all business. I am surprised that the Nascar fans have not figured out that if you put a nascar style body on a CD-3 or a nitroTC-3 and put a midly modified 3.3 ot OS.18 TZ you could have some serious high speed oval racing!! And when you finish oval racing you could do some Drag racing.

well the latest mod that we have done to the 3.3 is use a 9mm carb from a Novarossi .21 engine and what a even bigger difference that is. The billet piston/rod is a MUST for top end runs and nitro percentage use of 55%-4% oil content. I've even used some RedMax 60% fuel with the new piston/rod combo with no ill effects thus far.

The .18 TZ is without a doubt a great engine but for OS to share the same rod out of the .21 TM with the .18 TZ is the problem. The rod will let go under very stressful runs as I've seen this a few times.

NB it is just that I have never put anything bigger than a 8mm carb on any of my engines. But I am not into 1/10 scale like I use to be. Still working on my 1/5 scale NB.

Thanks.

I have already tried and used a RB TM523 engine in one of my CD3 cars and it is nowhere near as fun as a modded 3.3 let alone a .21 BB. It was designed by RB for the REVO and T-Maxx type trucks so the proting structure isn't top end friendly.

So...this past week, i've been tinkering with my HPI rs4 evo....i wanted to put a big block in it....so...after looking on my local craigslist for a big block motor, i came across a trx 3.3 for sale for 50 bucks.....i ended up getting the motor for 25 bucks...its in great condition..after about 100 bucks more..i finally got it all installed in my rs4...thought i'd share a pic of it below...

On another note...i've been looking for foam tires that are wider then the 30mm contacts i got on the rear now...does anyone know where i can find wider ones that fit a standard 12mm hex??

Heres a kinda crappy pic of the car now...iam going to get some video of it in action....

Maybe i'll have rick modify this 3.3...

you can get the GPR 44mm tires from Kamikaze. If you look back a couple pages, you'll see someone with them on another car.

I looked at that Kamikaze site and they are all sold out. Do you re-stock often?
