But as Miamiz has pointed out it why would you want to go with a taller gear ratio when you know that you will run out of track and not have enough room to stop?? They barely had enough room to stop with the gear ratio they were using. And they were not trying to set a new landspeed record just a demostration video of a fast car.

Ziggy 98mph is fast for a rc car, it is not the fastest rc car on the planet but Miamiz never said it was.

I have to agree with Nitrohead coming from where I am you dont really get to see rc cars like that especially going that 98mph and having proof in that amount of distance. I also have a question does it matter what brand flywheel and clutch shoes i buy? does it make a differences like m2c, buku, st racing, or etc?

Um, I'm sorry but it's quick, fast, and extremely durable and proven which is something hard to say about most speed set up cars, mind you in the video the car did 98mph just a few minuets earlier it was doing 100 mph just 3 mph shy of the second fastest RECORDED nitro speed run( which is actually set by a good friend of mine that took the drive to the ISC a few years back) mind you this is a car set up to be used on a weekly bases and gets about half a gallon of nitro fuel ran thru it every session. How many guys from ISC or ROSSA claim that???? Not only is the car quick it's retarded fast for a car on this scale, mind you at the speed challenges your using up to a 1/4 mile of smooth glass surface, while our hang out spot is exactly 950 feet long and that space is for spool up AND braking room ALL ON A UNPREPPARED normal everyday street, if that's not fast I don't know what is!!!

We drag race these things on a weekly bases 2 or 3 at a time at over 100mph on any given day, how many fellow hobbiest can claim that???? While most cars at any speed event here or over the pond at one hit wonders that are barely even tested before the event?

BTW 4WD cars......

Exactly, my point this guys idea of FASST is a rocket on 4 wheels..........and really thinks he reinvented the wheel with it............every year he does the same thing draws up some plans comes up with the crazy looking car that will do 200 MPH on paper and barely breaks 100 MPH or doesn't even work and then claims to be a speed god???? before ROSSA before ISC we where doing this type of thing YEARS AND YEARS AGO, and this is the guy that calls our cars quick.........but slow??? give me a break.

For all you non english guys..

Quick means getting from point A to Point B in the quickest time.
fast means the fastest top speed and doesnt matter how long it takes you to get there

I'm sure if Miami had enough room and a 2nd gear the car could be the fastest one around. It was certainly quick

Cheers

I'll post one after the speed event on 11th September. I gave up on IC cars to concentrate on the rocket but am now working on 150mph with an IC car.

Cheers

just takes more useable horsepower/torque to go faster with single speed with the capable gearing... this isnt 132ft drag racing..

yupp shes running. I upgraded to 44mm rear Reed foams and got alot more traction. The first thing that went was the main drive belt. It had already been really chewed up from running it with the previous motor and I hit a patch of gravel and it snapped... no more front wheel drive.

Got that fixed then the torque completely shredded my plastic spur gears... upgraded to steel ones and it has been running great since. Very fun car to mess around with but I'm still too nervous to attempt getting it up to full speed. Cen advertised the car would do like 74 with the stock motor and a belt pully switch. I'm currently running those pullys and 74 mph seems a pretty reasonable speed with this motor lol

Glad you got her up and running . I knew those extra wide tires would give you extra traction you may want to experiment with different bodies too. If you get a chance could you do a video of your speed runs??

yeah i will try to get a video of my speed runs up. I'm still trying to get everything tuned and dialed in. Right now its shifting way too soon and my engine tune could be a little better. How long does the pinch last on these picco .28s? I heard that after about two gallons that motor really starts to open up.

Hey Guys I need a little help, the motor mount to my cenracing ct5 striped... It's pretty crappy material... I was wondering if anybody knew any other motor mount I can use that will work on my car. I was thinking of trying a kyosho v one rrr mount or fw05. Do you guys think it will work? Thank you

Hello everybody I kinda new at this but I have a Kyosho V one rrr evo and was wondering what engine would you recommend. I am coming from racing at circuit events but my modded Os speed .12 blow at my last race and think it time to try something new. I only have about 325 dollars to spend because Christmas is on the way and my family is bankrupting me lol. I was thinking about going with a modded Os .18tz from Rick of Rbmods or I seen a crazy modded trx 3.3 on youtube with some other engines this guy has all modded out, lastly maybe a modded novarossi kanganoo rally least I don't have money to get a onroad modded kanganoo .21 Let me know what you guys think and any ideas. I would great appreciate all the help. Thank you.

Depends on how deep your pockets are then you can determine which motor to go with. OS.18 TZ modified would be ok put durability maybe a issue.

Yeah well it is almost winter, well how it feels in Philadelphia it drop 30 degrees in 2 days. So I don't think I'm going to be driving it anytime soon so I can save up so money. What engine will you recommend in the 300-450 dollars range. And what do you mean about the durability of the Os 18tz?

If you do full mod to the .18tz where everything is extremely modified it will be extremely powerful but the stock connecting rod , piston are not going to last. The OS is a good motor but their are other motors that are more durable like a NovaRossi for example. A NovaRossi will last longer even if it has been extremely modified.

Yeah i read online to the os .18tz rod can go under stress.. I also saw your kyosho v one rrr with an Os .18tz online when I was going research. Did the 28mm wide front and 40mm wide rear foam tires fit directly to your rrr or did you have to modify it to fit? Thank you
