RE: Nasty 1/10 scale on-road cars using .21 or larger engines....come inside
Great thread.
Here's my HPI Super Nitro RS4 with a XTM 247 engine and ez start.
I just need to find a good smooth road with enough room to hit 2nd gear to find out how fast it can go.
67 Charger mode
Plymouth Superbird mode
Present battle tested Skyline
Future Superbird
Actually I just want another one for the other body.

Got a few runs in today!
She definitely has more in her, I have a few more gearing options but I think this setup is a winner.
I use pulleys for my drive ratio changes instead of huge clutchbells and small spurs so I have a great amount of gearing setups to try, instead of being stuck to one gearing setup!

I'm gonna bet you are an excellent driver.
No way I can have anything mounted to my front bumper besides another front bumper.

Thanks man, I like using my own recipe
Well the weight helps there, although my gps is at serious risk lol.
It's actually not too horrible to keep straight the suspension really starts to squeeze down at high speed and the wheels get that gyro effect.
This is it fully dressed...

Thats what I heard Ziggy. I also read something about him changing tires I wonder if he went with taller tires?? At the rate Maxit is going he might hit 120mph by the end of the weekend if not sooner. And he has not change the gearing yet right??

Yeah the tyres were taller. he has other gearing on order so that will increase the speed also. He had a gearbox failure but think he has parts.
I was so impressed with this that I got myself a BZM motor. Its the same as Rinos full moded with 16hp and 19,000 rpm.
I havent seen the video yet but from previous runs I dont think he is hitting peak revs at all! What he needs to do now is stand on something to increase line of site and radio range. Both me and Nic know this is the way to increase speed. After that the tyres will start to give up.
Anyway I have thrown the guantlet down for first one of us to reach 300kph! I have some catching up to do as I havent received the motor yet or bought a chassis...LOL

We have this chassis (my mate just donated it!!)
I doubt it will fit so snuggly as the stock engine though. We will probably just take the rear and front units and build a chassis to fit
Cheers

Do you guys know of any good rims that will hold tightly onto the hex nut? I keep stripping the inside of my right rear wheel. I am going through rims and tire like crazy
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have that same problem with all of my stuff. I just tap a few small screws through the rim into the hex and screw on the rim nut an. It works like a charm for me.

I have found someone to make me some custom rims. Aluminum center hub and/or plastic/carbon fiber outer rim so I can glue any rubber tire on to it. Just like a dragter wheel.

I have an HPI rs4 e with a new is os 18tz. My problem now is that when I accelerate hard or somewhat hard the car kicks to a side. I'm using a buku clutch shies and fly wheel. Could this be a problem? Is my clutch engaging to late with too much rpm and power or would it be something totally different?

Does anybody on here have a old walburn chassis that they would part with? I have been modding my own motors for a few years now and never new what I had going. I mainly just ran with my brother and one of my friends. Recently I started selling and doing other peoples engines and I got a guy who is running one of my 3.3's in his 4tec. He raced somebody with a rail that was all done up and modded and beat him all 3 races with a 4tec. It upset them bad enought they got their big block rail out and still lost. Now I am looking to actually get out there and start drag racing around here while he is going to advertise and drag down there.

Threw the "kraken" in my super nitro RS4 (RB TM928) wonder how the axles will hold up.. lol
Adjusted the gearing for the lower RPMs.

RE: Nasty 1/10 scale on-road cars using .21 or larger engines....come inside
Hi new to this forum. I am trying to put a .21 (GRP Tuned on road) into my NTC3. I do know it will blow the diffs and that there is other models better suited but I still want to try. I am trying to locate engine mounts that will allow me to do the conversion. Any info will be appreciated.

Try these...
http://www.nitrohouse.com/p11554/ENG...duct_info.html
They slide on both ends, I use them with all my big block cars.

What size motor do you have in your starter box? And is your engine brand new?
