RE: Nasty 1/10 scale on-road cars using .21 or larger engines....come inside
Question;
Do anybody know if somebody sells a big block mount for a HPI Super nitro? I got the WolfPack Radicals one a few years ago from Bruckner Hobbies but they have discontinued selling.
I just got another Super Nitro and the .15 sucks compared to my big block one. I've considered maybe converting to electric but not really set up for fabricating mounts.

Got 92mph on the rs4-3 beast today.
put some cut 74mm 45 shore foams on should push me to the 100mph+ mark!
This engine is incredible!

I came across these really old pics in the forum from one of my proudest project. Actually still own the car but have been thru a couple of motor and gearing changes since. Same car that ran in Cali. Custom cut supernitro body to fit the Racer2

Yes. A .21 will fit. You will need new motor mounts flywheel clutch starter box header and pipe.

I ran the 2 speed one racer today and can honestly say that car is scary fast. Went on the safe side with the gearing just to get a feel for the way it is going to handle. I am out of receivers for my good controler so I used a rtr one for now and I can see that its not going to work without having the fine tuning adjustments. The sensitivity is too much for speeds this fast. That ofna 2 speed works awesome on the racer so if you have one i would give it a try. I used the stock 18t pulleys with a 19/22 38/41 gears and ran the 1/8th rear tires since i'm going for top speed. This car has a front one way so I didnt have to worry about the size diference in tires. It is a rocket in first and the 2nd shift makes it hop a couple times but nothing that noticable. If you couldnt hear it you wouldnt know at all. It pulls in 2nd just as fast as first but I didn't wind it out all the way yet. There was too many kids in the area for a near 100 pass. Need to get a new radar because the one I got dont work unless you can fly by next to it but I feel pretty confident that if the 3.3 in there will get very close to that 100 mark

Get a garmin forerunner GPS on ebay (60-80 bucks)
I would trust them over a radar gun which can change depending on the angle it reads the car on.
gps is gps and pretty accurate in comparison with no human side to worry about.

Thanks fdjizm I wondered what make that was. With those it will tell you your max at any point too. I will go there and buy one now. I highly recommend the ofna 2 speed. My motor moved on the 2nd tank and took the teeth off of first again so I need to figure out a way to make it stay put. I had that same problem with the firestorm when it was on there. Not sure but it think it is because of the way it turns and they mesh together. It works fine on the cd3s but when you put it in anything that the motor is on the other side of the spur it tears the teeth off every time just when you get comfortable and hammer down the motor just revs out.
I have more spur gears but will probably run that same motor in the other car with a 25/34 on stock pulleys and then change them to the 20t and see if they make that big of a change.

That's the one I am already watching in my ebay. Probably going to be a bidding war at the end but it is good as sold

How does a 427 do in one of these bad boys? And one more question what all do you have done to your motors?

Alright i just decided to put a .21 in my rs4 3 evo. I was wondering if my chassis is even good enough for an engine that beast? Maybe i should sell and get a diff chassis? I should of bought a kit to begin with?

Your chassis should be fine they can withstand quite a bit of power and abuse before you get to where the chassis is a problem.

The stock rs4 chassis is 7075 aluminum, no issues at all with a big block.
And surprisingly the center axles hold up well, the rear axles are a problem so you're going to need spares, I've twisted off 3 of them so far. I did try a .32 though and really no need for that much torque and the car was a bit slower up top, .21 to .28 is all you will ever need. (modified of course)
