What kind of speeds are you looking to get out of it Ziggy? Im guessing that will be in the IC open class.

BTW, is there a difference between nitro and petrol classes in ROSSA?

Good point GT100. The large scale IC class is for 1/5th based kits but the line between the IC open and the large scale IC class is a bit blured. I'll need to try and define the classes better for next year

Nice. Marc Davidson would be the one to beat with his 120mph nitro camaro. After those numbers he put up, I focused all my attention to the large scales.

I notice that 99% of you guys are into "top speed" runs, and I like that too. However, drag racing the little nitro cars (4-wheel drive sedans in particular) is what really drives me. Below is a link to my NTC3, which is powered by a TRX 2.5 that I added a few degrees of timing and a few other tweaks to. I have kicked a lot of ass with this little motor but I have a pretty serious 18TZ that is quite a bit quicker. My cousin had some issue with the recorder/phone and the first run I hit a groove and got lose, but the second run is proper. Tell me what you think.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHfw9nmX7ig

ZStein, welcome aboard and yes, most of us like to do speed runs and some are into drag. Not sure about where the other members live but there are limited tracks for onroad racing here so the next best thing is speed. Cant beat the next guy? Go bigger . I saw the vid you posted and it runs good. Tracked pretty straight that second pass. You have any idea of your 132ft time or speed?

Thanks for the response, but I have no idea what it actually runs e.t. wise nor the mph. RC Drag racing use to be quite big here (Denver, CO.) but it's dry now-a-days. There are a few of us that get together and race for a few bucks, but we don't have a timing system. At sea level (I'm at a corrected elevation of over 7,000 Feet) the car will run a lot quicker/faster. I have a 91 Mustang that I grudge race up here and on the ground, and I gain about 8 tenths between here and there, so the little cars pick up quite a bit too. In fact, the last time I took one to Vagas and ran, it was the quickest thing there. Unfortunately, all that air caused the rod to fail. That little sucker was screaming though!

Does anyone have or know where I can buy a set of aluminum ring and pinion/dive gears for the NTC3? Anywhere in the country? The plastic gears in the rear will not stand up to my self-modified 18TZ. They are shimmed properly and works fine with my other small blocks, but strips on the first hit with my 18TZ installed.

Is this forum completely dead now? Sure hate that because it's very interesting. I have a question to all of the fast (80 mph and above) guys; what is a good chassis set up for those speeds? I'm asking in regards to caster, camber, toe-in/out etc. At those speeds I'm sure the set-up becomes critical.

I'm all zero'd out and my speed run setups.
toe neutral no camber, on the RS4 I am running front arms in the rear so that has maybe 1 degree of toe in or less.
Very stable at high speed and also my suspension is soft with bump stops.

Interesting. I didn't think they would track straight zero'd out. But it has to be a good thing due to zero drag.

Gentlemen , for those who are looking for a 1/10 scale Ofna onroad car there is one on Ebay for sale for I think $135.00 The Ofna onroad cars are a good base for big block engines and drag racing because their diff have steel gears.
