RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
i really need help figuring out what tires i should purchase for my rs4 EVO +3. my x patterns are worn to the foam and im worry d that my rims are to get damaged. but when i went to my LHQ to look for tires i couldn't believe it costs almost 50$ for 4 tires without rims. i don't mind spending the money if there good and if its totally necessary to get them.
the store also had a package of 4 rims with glued on tires for 28$. but i don't no if there any good. should i buy Foam tires instead? it looks like there cheaper and offer more grip.
how much should i spend if i race in front of store parking lots and transit lots?

Hey I like foams and the HPI radial slicks depending on the quality of the surface I'm on -The foams are a bit more delicate to say the leastcheckout hpi on tower or for foams I get mine at Kamikaze R Racing http://kamikazetoysandhobbies.com/products.php?cat=9

I have a new slide carb OS .18 and I need to see pictures on how to set up the linkage. I've tried to install the linkage kit from HPI but there's no way I can see how to get it to work without binding. If anyone as instructions or close up pictures on how they did theirs, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'll try to get pictures later, but if you go back in this thread you'll see it. I don't think you can use the HPI set because that set I believe is designed for the RS42 or Super RS4. They are belt drive and the setup is different.

I'd go ahead and get the normal slide carb linkage. Doesn't cost much. This is what I used on my RS4. I didn't have to turn the carb on mine. But thats going to depend more on the engine than the carb. I've noticed that people using an engine with sg crank and slide carb usually have to rotate the carb. My engine had a regular shaft with slide carb and I didn't need to turn it.

You can get a T3 shipped for less than a hundred bucks. I have one coming in for my used RS4 3. The car was perfect, I don't think the guy drove it for more than a gallon. It came in th eoriginal box with the original body untouched, two other cool bodies and was perfectly clean without scratches for 130 shipped. I canned the T3 because he put a bump starter on it and cut part of the backplate.

Hey guys!
I can buy a brand new OS18CVRX motor for $50 locally. Only thing is, its a slide carb, not rotary. Is there a way to make a slide carb work? If not, should I buy the motor anyway and just get a new carb for it?

I found and purchased a rotary carb on ebay for $18.50, brand new.
Now that I have the motor and the carb on order, which engine mount will work?
Will this work?

Id rather the purple one instead of those small silver ones.

Thats a great price for the CV-RX, does whoever sold it to you have more at that price and will they ship? If I could get them for that price I would buy two.

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
I am after a little help from any-one with some knowledge of the 18ss engine. I bought a sad second-hand one , knowing it needed a piston and liner.
I have a new piston and liner, wrist pin, retainers etc and a blank backplate for starter box use.
The problem is I dont know the shim size that fits under the head. It is listed as HPI 1795 gasket set, but they are discontinued and I have searched and emailed all over the place with no luck.
Does anybody know if there is an alternative or the dimensions so I can make one.
