Default engine cooling advice

hi can you guys look at the attatched image. its taken off ebay as its a good image to work with. its also what i've brought for my thunder tiger ts4n.

now instead of cutting out a hole in the windshield or size mirrors i was wondering if i could cut another part as it might reduce drag.

if you see the raised part in the hood. theres the front angle then it slopes downwards. if i cut the front rectangle part ofthe bit in the hoods centre and added some tunneling to direct the air flow over the engine head and then cut a strip out of the rear of the chassis to let the air flow out again do you think this would provide enough air flow?

itsa 1/10 200mm shell. or is there another way to cut the air holes and recude drag?

well the slots i would cut would be half the size. about 1 inch x 1/2 inch on the front and 2 inches long by 1/2 inch deep on the rear. do you think this would be okay?(hence why i'd tunnel the air over the engine head

yes but you have to take the bumper cushion off so the air can flow.

ok i'll check it out. im installing a custom light system of headlights/taillights/neons on the car so i can also tie in a very light weight small fan.

i've been able to design the tunnel system and the fan would sit in the tunnel at the rear and drag the air through. but only if this is needed. thanks for all the help

oh one other thing. does anyone know the temperature ranges of the thunder tiger TS4N engine? i think itsa stock engine as the guy i brought it off brought it as a toy. so chances are i will need to break the engine in as he has no idea about nitro engines. (and i have already stripped the engine and checked it over for damage)

I did some slight photoshopping. Cut out the dark spots and then make like a diffuser on the rear.

haha sweet! thanks. kinda like the way it looks too. actually no kinda bout it love the way that looks. something that poped to mind though. cutting the piece from the bonnet. do we think thats going to add much lift on the car? obviously any air flow through the chassis adds lift so this is probably a stupid question. but those cut outs. would they make more or less lift that a windshield side window cut out?

I know this goes against what you want to do, but it is your best bet for cooling. at the top of the front windshield, there is usually a small rectangular section( see pics) I cut that out and then use a reamer to make several holes in the rear windshield... My advise is to do something similar. it increases airflow over the engine, and allows a n exit without creating a god awful amount of drag. With nitros this is a sacrifice you have to be willing to make. without proper airflow, you will see your new touring car start overheating in a matter of no time at all.

Or You can do this at the rear. my neighbor has this same exact thing on his 11sec civic. it doesn't affect the usuability either. but he most runs his evo.
