Ok I'm thinking of putting a tz in a nitro tc3 but I was wondering if the car can hold up to the power. I had built a rs4 and had a tz in it and had to replace all the drive line. Also so what would be the best gearing for the ntc3 I haven't looked in to them very much I've always been a hpi fan but I figured id step out of the box a bit thanks and any info on the car well be helpful

There are no cons as far as I am conserned. I had one in mine for a while and it held up great. I never had to replace any driveline parts. I think I was running a 54T spur and a 24T clutch bell (single speed).

A single speed with that gearing sure won't hurt the drivetrain but in a 2-speed where first gear is quicker and more of a load, you better keep an eye on the rear plastic diffs at that point. That is one of the weakest links on that car. Good luck.

My tc3 has been great with the 18tz. I run very high gearing for both the 1st and 2nd gear I haven't broken any diffs yet ( actualy I have but it was becouse the e clip had slipped off) and I have ran the car with the 18tz for 2 years. Basicly make your 2nd gear the highst posible then then make the first just a little lower to keep from damging the diffs.

About how fast will it be and what if I run some wide foams?

Listen to Brents warning about the Diffs!!! I would reccomend you replace the diffs with Ofna steel diffs it will make your car bullet proof. I put a big block LRP .28 in mine the steel diffs are still holding up. Also you should read the thread ' Nasty 1/10 scale onroad cars using .21 or larger engines" it is right here on this website.

ok guys i got the car yesterday i just bought a roller off ebay so i hope its a pretty sound car haha seems to be so far. now let the games begain you guys will be my new best freinds. belive it or not i got bored with my 5th scale so i had to get a nitro haha

There is one big con.. No traction. Its not like you want to use foams everytime you run either. Other than that the 18tz makes a good combination basically anywhere it goes.

.................I run foams all the time with mine and have no traction problems. Kawahara foam tires 32mm wide front and 40mm wide rear

Foams all the time? If you don't run on a maintained surface debris in the road will eat up 'em foams..

Its a 06 Evo9 GSR. It's my pop's car for a few months until I can pay for insurance lol. All stock bolt ons. Tbe, Mbc, forge bov, buschur mini battery, Ets upper and lower icp. And it's apex silver.

Niice! i noticed you havea rs4 with a tz. i had one to and i sold it and now im sick i did i had so much work in it haha
