Default Bigger tyres

I was thinking of getting bigger wheels / tyres for my RS4 3, (i.e Traxxas slayer tyres). Or if not, is there a better way of giving the car more clearance from the ground??

Cheers

Adding some spacers above the springs on the shocks should help somewhat

How much more clearance do you need?
You can use longer shocks but you won't get a lot of ground clearance from that as at some stage your driveshaft angle will be too great to run properly

Look in the 'RC Drifter' forum for:

'HPI sprint2 ride height'

Spacers above your springs will only make the springs harder.

There should be droop screws which go vertically through the lower arms and act like stoppers on the chassis/base plate to keep the arms level etc.

I am not familiar with the RS4 in particular, but every car I have uses this method.  Presuming it's the same- you can wind these grub screws higher which will allow the arms to go lower.  Have a look at the pic there's a small hole in the bottom arm just next to the pivot.  My GUESS is there's a grub screw in there which can be wound up.

If not, maybe you could use a different position for the shock mount at the top.

Just had a look at a HPI RS4 manual,

OOPS!  I don't think they have the droop screws!

Better try the shock mount position.

i dont have a picture of them but they have the same tread patern as the hpi v-grove tires.they say kyosho 76/36/60 on them.they are mounted on 2.2 rims.i couldnt find the same size tire anywhere.they are a very low frofile tire.they were on the super nitro when i bought it used.
