Engine suggestions for a HPI nitro rs4 2 with 2 speed trans

I currently am looking at a os 18 tz and traxxas 3.3. I want to know if something like this would fit in that chassis?
any other suggestions on what engine would be ideal for great open lot mobbing would be greatly appreciated.
want to make this car really shine and just be a true blast from the past.

The Os is an awsome engine if you want to go fast......It is pricey, but well worth it!
I bought the Ofna 18 for one of my Ld3's,it runs pretty good, but know where near the performance
of an Os engine.

Would the HPI car be the best and easiest to convert into a bigger block engine without having to replace a bunch of parts? I am interested in doing a project like this to have a fast straightline road car. I know you can get the HPI car pretty reasonable. It does have a decent .18 in it, but know where near as good as say the OS TZ .18 (Modded) Any response or help with a project like this would be appreciated. Also if anyone knows where there is another thread on here that goes over alot of this type of project, please let me know. Thanks for any help.

I dont have an hpi,so I dont know what mods you have to do.A friend of mine had an Hpi.,which he had an Hpi.25 in.
I lost contact with him as he had moved.
He built my Ld3.However,I had installed a 2spd,an had to offset the fuel tank in an angle,Also had to put an aftermarket
rotostart set up,because there was no room for a big bulky pullstart. The header an a marine muffler had to be used also.

So a big block can be installed with things shifted around,an different parts used.My friend made his own chassies though.

Ofna made the Ld3,but Im not quite sure if its still in production! However,Their diffs are far more superior because
they are metal, which the Ae ntc3 uses plastic,an I dont know what Hpi run in their drivetrain.

Ofna diffs can handle the punishment of the torq. of a big block engine.
I got all of my Ld3's on ebay,an every now an then, they do pop up for sale...Oh,they
are a shaft driven car:cool:

Hi Car-Tune. Appreciate the video post. Great running car. Could you possibly post a pic of the car less the body. I'd like to see that O.S. TZ 18 in there. Thanks.

Thanks alot for pics and info. Where did you get your drive shafts and what did you do to the F/R diffs? I am thinking of doing one, but just for high speed runs, not for drag racing.

Car-Tune 01-22-2015 07:45 PM

The drive shafts I bought them from eBay and they turned out awesome. No more breaking them. When I bought my rs4 I had the evo 3 which is the cheapest version and came with aluminum diffs do I kept eating them up so I had to upgrade them to steel.
i also wanted my car for hight speed runs but realized I will not hit 100mph unless I use a .21 engine.
