Yes, if you plan on mostly driving in mud and snow, though(not much crawling), you'd probably want to lift it a little to help prevent the chassis from dragging on whatever you're driving through.

If you're planning on running the thing in snow and mud, you might wanna look into waterproofing your electronics.

4 links would help a little, but the main thing would be increase the ground clearance(for the chassis and/or axles) and making sure you have some good tires for snow and mud. What crawler are we talking about and what tires do you have on it?

DIG disconnects the power one of the axles, which helps maneuvering sometimes when crawling. As far as driving in low traction conditions(such as mud and snow), though you want all the traction you can get, so DIG would just be a waste of money.

To get more clearance for the axles, you'd have to get larger diameter tires. For the chassis, you'd need to adjust the suspension to give it a lift.
