This is a build loosely based on a '42 Kenworth wrecker. I'm using a worminator chassis with outcry bushless motor and ESC. Tamiya King hauler cab and the rest is
scratch built including the boom and trunion/winch base. I've made much more progerss since this pic, but need to download and size them. More to come soon.

i am absolutley baffled by some of the projects i see on here. whenever i see these types of projects i cant help but ask myself, why arent these guys in buisness making these for the rest of us lol. nice work man. really, that is impressive

easy once you start doing it for money its no longer a hobby, and starts to become more of a hassle that you start to hate.
Or at least that's how it was when I made one of my old hobbies into work many years ago.

Update on the wrecker. These pics are of the the winch/trunion deck, electronics deck which will be hidden under the cab, and the winch's and boom with all lines installed.

Couple more pics. In These you can see the tank turrrettraverse gearbox and turret ring used to rotate the boom. Also I had to make some new shock springs to hold up the weight of all the
new aluminum and lifting gear in addition to any load being lifted.

Just bought a new house, so the build on the wrecker will be on hold over the summer till I get moved and settled in.

Got bored of this sucker staring at me from the shelf so I slapped on paint and some details of the cab. Looks cool but pretty much non practical as most r/c's don't have a neutral. Can still lift or pull a crawler out of trouble though. Light bar is pretty nice, only around $20 shipped and is plug and play to an open channel on your rx for on/off and switching between 4 sequences. Have mine on the gear channel.

Looks good, you should make a tool box to cover the motor that runs the boom. It'll hide the power wires and protect the motor from dust and debris.

Yea, was thinking about that. Quick box out of styrene should do it, only issue may be the gearbox is spring loaded to make up for the not so perfect circle of aluminum I got to make the winch base. Suppose I could just double side tape it to the top of the gearbox so it can travel with it.

Couple more details. Mobile welding unit, cutting torch tanks and brackets to hold some more chain. Just about wraps it up, not going to crazy on the detailing on this build.
