Nikko 1:6 hummer h1 vs 2.2 scx10: insane hill climb videos
Me and my buddy took our trucks out to climb some steep hills and the nikko absolutely rocked. Usually a fully built hobby crawler will out wheel any toy grade truck but the hummer went sooo many places the scx10 couldnt. Some of the climbs were near straight up while others were just plain difficult. There are some spots that i made up with the hummer that neither my full built scx10 or traxxas summit have ever been able to make up. We were both laughing our heads off watching the giant nikko just lug its way nearly straight up the hills lol
Nikko 1:6 hummer h1
4:1 gear reductions
locked front and rear
Traxxas vxl esc and 2075 servo full waterproofed
Led head tail and fog lights
stock 540 motors
original nikko controller
stock suspension

The scx10 is built like mine for hill climbing
12.3" wheel base
2.2 weighted
Weight balanced
brushless w/7.4 lipo
the climbs are much more steep than they look in the video

The scx10 couldnt make up this climb even with a running start

This climb is more than 1.5 feet tall and nearly straight up.

Neither scx10's or the summit can climb this one

This climb couldnt be done be either the summit or the scx10 on 2.2s. The summit needed a running start in high gear and the scx10 needed paddle tires and 3 times my wheel speed to make it

RE: Nikko 1:6 hummer h1 vs 2.2 scx10: insane hill climb videos
The truck is actually very durable all around and the plastic gears are surprising more durable than the heat treated rc4wd gear reductions. Ive had the truck 9 years and have never broke anything until the gear reduction stripped out.
This truck runs on the same chassis as the nikko hercules, nikko avalanche, radio shack extreme machine, and also the 1/6 f150. Nikko basically took a hercules/extreme and added a chassis extension and 1/6 body to make these. Mine is based off my extreme machine and i have 2 extra chassis's if anything breaks. As far as electronics they are all traxxas.

Hey I had one of them but metallic blue, I've still got the body
I killed the chassis by hitting a verandah poll at full pelt,
it snapped one of the lower arm off and 1/2 the diff housing with it.
I Was using a Tamiya twin motor ESC on 8.4v nimh. Even stock my daughter use to ride on it
Hey did that have the wagon back? Mine does and it's removable

Yes it had a wagon back just took it off for climbing and it actually is identical to what you have with the spinners just came in black.
Nikko sold the molds for the 1/6 stuff to fastlane and fastlane were the first to make the hummer in 4wd using Nikko/radioshacks old setup. The Nikko hummer was only made in 2wd was built much better than the fastlane 2 and 4wd versions and didnt break near as easy. putting the Nikko and fastlane side by side you can feel the difference in plastic quality and the wheels were all wobbly on the fastlane. I took my radio shack extreme machine and used the chassis extension and body from the fastlane and thats how I built this truck. All the parts are interchangable but its funny looking at them side by side and seeing the difference in quality.
