Tracks?
i am going to attempt to build a tracked rc.. i wouldnt have except i came across a torn up cheap rc that had each wheel powered by different motors and no steering servo. i salvaged it and am trying to get ideas for tracks.. i dont have alot of $$, and since this is just for sh*ts and giggles anyways i am always up for cheap ideas.. i thought about cutting up a water hose or one of those flat water hoses.. what else could i use?

RE: Tracks?
Cool! I wish I had the ambition to tackle another project, because that sounds intriguing.
I have seen a tracker that used cogged-tooth belts, like off some older cars. They might be a bit difficult to come across, but it's another idea, anyway.
Good luck with your plan, and keep us posted!

RE: Tracks?
k so heres my ideas get 2 lockout kits for clod axles and remove the front axle shaft on a locked diff on opposite sides on opposite ends of the truck so youd have one motor for each side forward and back? how hard coould it be? duno bout building the tracks tough night need aluminum steering knuckles to handle the load... my 2 cents

RE: Tracks?
wow...thats a good thought, thats probablly work well, the blizzards(newer ones) use a single motor with a diff then brake on the one side to turn, but for a track crawler the clod thing would probablly work great, gotts get tracks, or make um, make some bogie wheel assemblies to support the tracks

I hope these will give you some ideas.
These are from a Japanese r/c magazine.
