Default using 6 ch. 2.4ghz heli radio & rx on rc sailboats

Hi Guys,

I have a 2.4ghz tx & rx from an Esky heli I'd like to use on an rc sailboat. Seems to me I could use the throttle for sails and ailerons for rudder. Anyone know if this works?
Sure would beat buying new radios.

Most of our club members have used
the spectrum system that way for our sailboat
That works very well

Thanks for your info. I rather figured that it would works just as well one way as the other with the abscence of the speed control for motors. I found that the rx receives 5+volts from the speed control so a 6v battery should power it ok..
