Starting to build nightmare 7
Hi
I'm starting to build my nightmare 7 (thanks ernst for the plans). I was wondering are the main hull and the float the same scale, the reason i asked is that when you put the two side by side, the beams don't line up with each other? Should i use the front beam as the reference or the back?
Also i have a mate thats building a farrier F82R tri and they split tthe hulls at the keel line and the centre line of the deck, and build the two halves that way.He is trying to talk me into building that way he thinks it'll work with the model, then glass the halves before you remove them from the jig. I don't think i'll use the hulls as a plug but build them to sail.
Also before i get to far into it, When you are all building your amas is the a set plan or just go with the flow.
I'll start to post pictures soon
Your thoughts please
Richard

Started the float half, Joining down the keel line and the deck. I have also learn't that not to use balsa glue for the scarf joint. Time to strip my planks into 8mm strips.

Finished the first half of the float, and learn't more. That CA glue really sticks, And what you think that the balsa will do it generally doesn't.
I have got a couple of pictures of the float half. There is a couple of hollows in the hull that i will fill with light weight filler after i have glssed the hull.
