5' Bluenose info for converting from display model to floating RC model
Would appreciate suggestions for required ratings for sail and rudder servos. Also would require battery size and esc suggestions.

If the underwater bits are strictly to scale, there is little chance of a satisfactory working model. Apparent wind strength multiples with the square root of the scale, so you very rapidly run into weather that the real thing would be hiding from, or overwhelmed by.
Racing yachts of this approximate size have a max sail area of 800 sq in, and tend to weigh about 10 lb with a long fin and a 5 lb weight on the end. A scale Bluenose will need a much heavier weight due to the short lever of the shallow fin offering little righting moment against the forces coming from the sails. A standard servo will be enough to work the steering, the sails will need either a fairly heavy winch, or several smaller ones.
It is quite possible that a display model hull might not have been constructed with any thought of sailing, let alone fitting radio control.

very accurate advice. converting from scale oriented static model to sailing model, usually means changing sail area and sometimes relocating center of effort and changing below waterline design to better facilitate keeping the boat one it's bilges. you're better of finding and building to a plan that is drawn to be a sailing model.
