Default Sail Material?

I recently learned about a material called PUL (polyurethane laminate). It is a waterproof fabric but feels somewhat "plasticy". Does anyone know if it stretches and if it would work as sail material on a small RC sailboat? I know there is proper sail material or rip stop nylon at higher prices but this PUL is available locally and cheaply in various colors. Thanks for any help.

Give it a try. What can it hurt?

Thank you, Bip60. Is Dupont 377 something that is available at a general fabric store or is it specifically for sails?
