Recommend boat
Hi All
No RC experience here. A coulpe of buddies and I want to get into sailboats to play at the docks. There seems to be a wide range of boats out there and we don"t know where to start. We are all lifelong sailers and old farts to boot so we won't have much patience with junk. Not looking to spend a fortune but wondered if you could point us to a good product to start with.
Thanks for the help

RE: Recommend boat
Well I guess I should have read the posts first. You have answered the same question already. Sorry for the redundancy.

RE: Recommend boat
One boat that has not been mentioned enough in my opinion is the Halo 30.
It features a high quality fiberglass hull (most boats are plastic), comes with a carbon fiber rig and is just the right size at 30". It is easy enough for a beginner or 'challenged' (like me) model builder to build, but fun for the more experienced.
The boat used to be manufactured by We Laser Cut of Canada, but recently, Vision Sails, a US based RC sailboat company has taken over distribution of the boat.
There are two links for this boat that I recommend that you check out...
www.visionsails.com (the distributor)
Halo 30 Yahoo Group [link]http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/HALO30owners/[/link]
I hope this helps.

RE: Recommend boat
hi the micro magic is a great little boat its the fastest growing class in europe at the moment and is starting to take off over the pond too.they are small at 2 ft long but dont be fooled by size they sail better than a lot of bigger boats.hers the uk site bout them but i know they are available over there just not sure where.they are made by graupner in germany so they are good quality boats and will handle rough conditions despit theyre size.also they are cheap and been small will fit in most cars fully rigged so no messing arround dismantling anything just put it in the car and go sailing.check this picture out to see what i mean, all your mates can firt theire boats in the one car lol.have search round the site and i beleive they now have clubs in canada so the us wont be far behind as these boats will really perform in most conditions.

RE: Recommend boat
I can recommend the Kyosho seawind. Between my friends and I we have about 7 sailing locally. They are a great first boat.
