Default Sterling Yacht America "LOSS"

My 25 year old Sterling Yacht America is no more. A total loss after my friends dog got into the hobby room. I do think he had a good time with it, but I was not done having fun myself. I was just about finished a rebuilding it and hopping to go sailing this spring after missing 10 years. I may be able to save some of the pieces to make toothpicks. []

If anybody by chance knows of a Sterling America Kit for sale i would be surely grateful. I have check ebay and searched the net and have been unable to locate one.

webdr,

Yea, I don't like the untrained ones either. Some of this was my fault because I left him bring a 7 month puppy in my home. We were watching TV and I forgot I had left the hobby room door open. It wasn't until a bathroom break we noticed the puppy wondered off. Lucky for the puppy I have lots of self control. But I must admit, after they left and I sat there and studied the loss, I did start to break down a little. Now I'm just hopping to find another to replace it while I still have the energy and mindset.

Thanks,
Dan

oh, it was a puppy, well thats understandable. I thought it was a full grown dog. Do you have any pics of the carnage?

Sorry for your loss.
Never ever let a puppy or kitten into the hobby room.

Hi there, my husband has an unbuilt (I found it in the basement) in the original box model of a sterling model kit B-22m which is the yacht america but a supposedly radio controlled version. It appears to be a rather large model My husband is in the latter stages of terminal cancer and I am trying to clean out some things now. If you are interested, please email me or let me know in some way. I think I had signed up on this website some time ago and it was just a fluke that I found it again and your post. I think way back when I had seen this type of model go for about $200 on ebay but I don't really remember.

The kitten & boat are both fine.
The kitten Blue is a big boy now. He still likes boats, and hanging around the pond.
He has only fallen into the pond 2 or 3 times that I know of.
