@Sirit
CONGRATULATIONS, Phanchita!
(And actually I also can congratulate myself as well, as it is my own design you where able to realize!)
For further rigg-/sail development please also check out Karl Schmidts (SKAUT´s) exceptionally great new video:

Phancita
Looks really good. How much lighter is it than the glass version. Do you find it to be stiffer overall, especially the beams? Did you use an epoxy resin or polyester/vinyl?

Dear TBK,
the carbon version is 900grams lighter than the white glass boat - about half of the weight saving is because the carbon boat is not gel coated, stiffness is about the same. All my boats are in epoxy, I do not use vinyl/polyester.
How is your 65M project - have you started already?
Cheers

Dear Sirit
Thanks for the update. As far as a was aware epoxy resin is not very UV stable and given enough time in the sun, it will tend to turn yellow and become brittle. This can be overcome somewhat with a clear coat. Have you found an expoy that is UV stabilized? Sadly I have not found the time to begin my RG65 project. We are having an unusally mild fall and I am still able to sail (ponds not hard yet). Once things get too cold I'll probably pull out the templates and begin the build.

Dear TBK,
you're right with UV stability, but it is not a big issue, the boat is not moored outside, its in the sun only while racing it.
I guess your place the water will get solid soon, it is already cold here in Thailand.
I hope you will have fun with the RT65 you're going to build. The small ones are more convenient to transport.
The projects I'm working on now are a 2-metre Tri a Mini40 Cat and two monohulls, a RG65 and a ultrawide IOM.
Cheers

The first production "Nightmare Mk.VIII" full carbon/epoxy-version is sailing in Shanghai!
This is definitely a: "VERY WELL DONE"! - for Sirit, the producer and Ian, the new owner!

Dear K. Sirit,
I see you are working also with carbon fibers in your models.
Do you know a carbon distributor called Rattanakosin Composites in Thailand? They have many differnt styles of carbon and kevlar in stock in Thailand. www.rc-composites.com
Kind regards,
Tim

Sirit is seemingly not present in this forum currently.
Some verbal attacks made him angry as far as I found out.
