T-foils for small multihulls?
I'm wondering how T-foils would work on a small multihull. Anyone having success using T-foils on a Mini40 or smaller or is the way to go with V-foils?

Sirit
Dick Lord did develop a succesful t-foil trimaran which utilizes adjustable flaps that are raised lowered using wands trailing in the water. The faster the forward movement or greater presssure on the wand forces the angle of the flap upward causing the foil to lift. If you go to his website - microsail.com and look up the microFoiler there are some great shots of it in action.

Thanks TBK,
that guy seems to be the only one having success with T-foils so far. The germans seem to have tried but appearantly given up, there is a long, long thread in german language hard to read in Google translation.
BTW how is your RT65 project for your son going on?

Still haven't found the time yet to get started on that RG65. Hope to begin working on it soon though, now that the kids are back to school.

I have seen this PSK Foiler. Anybody knows where to find the plans for this thing? Looks awfully fast.

Today my 65cm T-foiler has been flying for the first time. This is proof that T-Foils work on small multihulls. Anyway there is still much to optimize. Pictures to come soon.

RE: T-foils for small multihulls?
Hi Guys,
after a few tests with my 'waterresist' mini 40, the speed bug has bitten and i want to go faster. (sound familiar?)
The sails still look like crap, and probably should be redone first, but there would be more fun in foiling it.
I suspect it may also help alleviate a tendency to bury the main bow when getting powered up in stronger gusts.
So my question is along Sirit's lines, if anybody has firsthand done the foil setup on mini 40.Doesn't look like much progress, perhaps everybody is still in experimental stage?
I have seen Doug's models, from the links.
Knowing buggerall really about foils, any suggestions of suitable sizes and locations to suit mini 40 (1200mm length)
would save alot of messing about and reinvention. what has worked so far?
thanks in advance
