    IMEX V100 R/C Sailboat

I just saw an ad for the IMEX V100 in the recent July, 2009 issue of FLY R/C. Am giving serious consideration to purchasing one, but would first like some input from any one who might own or be familiar with this boat if possible. My internet searches provided practically nothing on it.

Would like comments on overall design and quality, pro's and con's on performance, and cost (Is it worth the $400 asking price?).

Many thanks in advance to anyone that may provide any info.

    RE: IMEX V100 R/C Sailboat

Found a spec for it at

    http://www.gravesrc.com/IMEX_V100_SA..._p/imx5432.htm

where it is claimed to contain a 30A ESC.

This leads me to wonder if IMEX know what a sailboat actually is, or if the spec is for something else altogether.
The size and weight given make it a slightly oversized IOM, so competition sailing would be out.

For rather less money, I would consider a slightly smaller boat, the Thunder Tiger Victoria. Probably a lot less money, depending on where you do your shopping.

Why would they make a 41 inch boat? It doesn't fit any class.
Over the years I have spent nearly all of my money on boats, beer, and women. The rest of it I just wasted.

Gross weight 5.7kg. And the photo looks like a drawing. For that price I would run away. The kicker is; as example - Soling boats, in US, are so good, why do people still look at these kit boats. Soling 1m $140. In Australia just under $300. People here (Oz) buy Soling etc or Chinese kit boats which retail for $53! Yet sell here on ebay for about $200. Every day another 5 boats sold. Reputation of RC boats is ruined. A good IOM here costs $2,600 new. The good kits around $400. But that's still a kit which I would never buy again.
