Victor v-12a Footy
How many of you guys or gals are sailing the Victor v-12a? I'm new to sailing, and I am thinking about getting a couple of these little gems. I won't be racing, sailing with a club, or anything like that. It will mostly be used for just sailing around the pond for fun. I plan on getting 2, one for me and one for the wife. Also, I hope to get a few family members involved in sailing with me. I have family members that fly, and I am more into the car/truck side of rc.
I was just wondering, the ones out there that are sailing it, how do you like it? Anything i need to know before purchasing it?
Feel free to give any input. Also, anyone who has one.. post up some pics of yours.. I love to see other people's work and craftsmanship. Any photos of your electronics layout would be nice to see to.
thanks
Adale

RE: Victor v-12a Footy
I am planning on buying 2 Victor Footy V 12A's to sail with my neighbor.
We sarted the Victor Soling 1 Meter Fleet in 1996 in Sarasota, FL and have
been very happy with the Victor Model Products.
I build a number of model boats. I offer laser cut frames and
parts for any boat or object you want to build that plans or sketches are
available for. See my web site at www.angelfire.com/fl4/mft.
I show the Opalek Footy by Pawel Dejnak of Poland.
There is a link to my PhotoShow. It shows the
Opalek Footy kit and how it is built by young people in goup efforts.
There are many different Footy kits shown on the
US Footy Association web pages. Find them with the help of Google.

The URL for my web site is www.angelfire.com/fl4/mft that failed in the post above this because
of the period following the address. Sorry about that.
I will try adding a link to my PhotoShow on the Footies in this post.
I hope it works. If not, I will get the URL and add it later.

Hi,
I am the designer of this boat.
My site is: www.MODELmaniak.pl (use the automatic translation - click on the appropriate red text on the right).
You can send e-mail directly to me.
Latest Opalek version 1.8 costs in Poland about. 35$ (depending on the equipment).
Unfortunately the shipment to the U.S. is over 20$ (for this reason, usually is better to buy along with several colleagues, I am looking also for the manufacturer behind 'Big Water').
Best regards form Poland,
Pawel Dejnak

I built and raced a Footy. But after racing EC 12's it was more like sailing a toy. They're a lot of fun to sail and your family should enjoy them.

RE: Victor v-12a Footy
I recently completed a V 12 kit (Victor Models) and enjoyed the process. It was pretty easy and the little guy sails better thanmy expectations. Great fun. I have a bunch of larger boats, but the Footy is a great diversion on those days when you want to go sailing but there is very little breeze. They do very well in just a whisper of wind. Not to bad for their size in normal conditions either.
I like the lazer cut boat mentiioned above. Were I to build another, I'd go that way. Here's a couples pics of my Footy
Enjoy

Victor Models relocated to the South - just google them. They are still around - justa new location. The founder passed away, seems over a year now. Took a while for them to pull things together but they are still in business.
