Default Long Island NY or close IOM Sailors?

Any of you out there? I have two IOM's and want to see how they stack up to others. Both home builds with 1/8" balsa core and glassed over. Pro sails and rigging from midwest model yachting. Both are Graham Bantock deigns Triple Cown and a Vektor. The triple crown (first build) isn't class legal as the keel is not removable, but the vektor is. Triple crown seems faster as it is narrower, bit only had them out together once. Not sure about weights as I have no scale, but going to invest in one as I want to build a "Tempest" or Maximus mkII"

Few pics. Green one is the triple crown. My even sell it if anyone interested.

Default RE: Long Island NY or close IOM Sailors?

Hey Pooch
very nice looking IOMs !
Just in case you don't know , on www.theamya.org you can use the club locator
tab and scroll down to New York and find local rc clubs , the club listings usually
say what class boats are sailed there .
or try www.iomclass.org for leads to find sailing friends......
.
interesting : the keels HAVE to be removable on IOMs .....
I don't know if you ever heard of an outfit called "Harbor Freight Tools"
they carry a dandy digital scale ,good to 11lbs,can measure in oz/grams/lbs.
usually lists for like 20. , but will often be a sale item (last saw it for $16.)
