Santa Barbara One Design Hull
I have a Santa Barbara One Design Hull #779. Could anyone give me advice as to how much it is worth today? Thanks so much!

RE: Santa Barbara One Design Hull
Hi sbooth
this may surprise you , but it depends....
I sail in a club here in Chicago that has a very active S/B fleet ( we just hosted the 2010 Nationals in June ) and boats in "decent" condition
have been exchanged for six to eight hundred dollars - but consider all the factors involved...
boat -age and condition
deck - ocean racer style , cabin house ( desireable ) or custom flush deck ?
electronics - old but still working Vortex winch or a 300 dollar RMG winch ?
sails - new , old , dacron or mylar ?
demand - our hulls keep or increase their value by virtue of having an active fleet here - if you have the only one within 100 miles
I can see that affecting the value , if racing is the goal-but then these 70" hulls have quite a "wow" factor pond side .......
why not send an email to the S/B class secretary and get his opinion ? he can be reached at "[email protected]"
also ,this will allow let Ernie Mortensen (sec.) to keep his info files updated - we are always trying to keep track of "our" boats .
it would also help if you could post a picture here , overall side view (with rig ?) , and a close up of the radio board .
I think replacement value would be a thousand to twelve hundred (?) for a new boat , all up ....
hope this helps
