Classic sailboat

Hi,
Is there a "classic" wooden kit for a big (6 foot tall or so) sailboat? In one of the episodes of "Hercule Poirot" there's a gorgeous example, see pics. |

Hello Vasek
Since you are in Europe, the first item I thought of were these beautiful "Youpi" RC Sailboats from France. you can see them here : //voiliers-classiques-rc.voile-rc.net In Germany look at a company called "Schepp Modelbau" he has a 6' long hull called the "Lacustre" you can see them at www.rc-sailing.com Here in the U.S. there are many choices at www.victor-model.com, they have a schooner called the "Mary J Ward" and a gaff sloop called the "Ruby B"-both as kits Tippecanoe Boats has all wood kits, the 47" Fairharbor Schooner looks nice.www.modelsailboat.com There is a 48" version of "J" Class yachts called the "Canterbury J"-with a wood deck they are gorgeous .www.pmycsail.com If you go to the American Model Yachting Assoc. website at www.theamya.org you will see 3 different size version's of 12 Meter yachts, the 46 " long "U.S. 12", the 58" long "EC-12 Meter" and the 72" long "Newport 12 Meter" This info should give you a start Allan |
