The Acrolite bipe had a mid-air with the B-17.
The bipe spiraled in nose first, the B-17 limped in seriously out of trim, at the least. The pilot expertly got it down safely. Turns out a piece of the Acrolite's tail section was stuck to the B-17's leading edge, otherwise no damage! They re-started (x4) the B-17 and re-flew their round! The bipe was put away by the time I got to that pit area with the camera, but it sure didn't sound or look good when it contacted the cow pasture.
That big beautiful 1/3 Waco had a deadstick argument with the fence on the far end of the field, as well. Second meet in a row that one has gone in. He vowed to rebuild it, again.
