FIX THE IMAGE LINKS D HEADS

RE: FIX THE IMAGE LINKS D HEADS
I agree. The moderators are doing the best they can. I have seen several posts about moving to new servers and making adjustments. Being in I.T. I understand the challenges involved so perhaps I am more patient and understand than others but to call the moderators names is over the top.

Being insulting to techies, geeks or nerds will get you lots of help - NOT!
This is a free service so behave. I am irritated as well at times but be patient.

A bit harsh but building threads without pictures are worthless. This has been going on for some time now seems like it could be addressed quicker. IMO.

RE: FIX THE IMAGE LINKS D HEADS
I see more and more guys who normally post here posting builds there since this started. I like both sites but don't need the added frustration I've experienced here lately. I hope the get this cleared up down the road.

I think that that outburst was uncalled for. I agree with the majority... they're trying to fix this.
This is a free service, so none of us have lost any money. I don't know a think about writing a website but I have some friends who do. The one thing they all mention is how difficult it can be to track down a gremlin that's tossing a monkey wrench into the works.
I don't feel that they're ignoring us.

I haven't been uploading regularly here, but recently I'd say it's better. But remember that there were also a few glitches (of a similar type) even before the move.
Quick photo upload test: FAILED. And the site hung.
Rebooted Firefox and the second time it worked.

RE: FIX THE IMAGE LINKS D HEADS
It seems the initiator of this thread is unable to grasp the meaning of the warning included in the message dialog box for every post on this site that reads "Please resist the urge to curse, flame, degrade, insult or embarrass someone in your post. We encourage the free flow of your ideas, but believe that they can be communicated (and received) much more effectively if you keep things civil."
That's a huge problem these days, nobody understands what it means to keep things civil or how much doing so would benefit their cause.

guys give him a break..........sure this site is free, but we all have lives too.
most of us come here to post build threads, or watch others.
going thru all the effort to type out a post and then try to upload pictures and see it all go "poof" into thin air is down right annoying.
what's even worse though is that some of the build threads that someone spent much time on to post details and pictures now have pictures that are gone...........just a blank space where a photo use to be.
we certainly do not have the right to belittle the people doing this rather leeeengthy update, but how can one thing be functioning fine one day and the next day it's on the fritz again?
this has been going on for how long now?
then again, what's the alternative?..........RCG?................sorry, that's more like a cartoon place than anything else

Agreed but it's improving the Scale Fuel Planes forum has attracted several really talented individuals and some great builds, so it's getting better all the time. The Heli forums are pretty good also. I know it's geared more toward electrics but it's still more user unfriendly than RCU. Just my opinion.

I hate the issues as well but I suppose we could start visiting an Australian website or 2 instead. Or has anyone ever heard of one?

So, let's see...today I attempted to post photos three four times with no luck. And the site hung twice three times. And it's been inaccessible for much of the last hour two hours. And it's been pretty much this same way for the last three weeks. Not a very good showing, "New Guys."
I certainly won't resume posting in my Albatros CI thread with things like they are. It's just too much hassle. And if RCU can't get its act together in a month or so, I may have to finish the build someplace else. This is a thread with over 50,000 hits so far!

also, it's different stradegy for me here too as i learned to copy my post before hitting the send button so i can paste it in a new browser if this one decides to go "poof" as it does sometimes.
really amazing that something like a server change and repairing of the old bandaides can take this long.

I use Photobucket to post photos.
Worked first try. A least this time.

Apparently, the link gets copied along with the "quote." No, I'm just not interested in a "work around" for a busted site. RCU really isn't that much better than other sites and if RCU can't work out their technical issues (and I see no indications that things are improving), I'll just post builds someplace else. I'll probably still hang around here to "smooze" but it's too much hassle at present to do build threads on RCU.
