Need suggestions please on correct spinner and pilot?
Come on warbird Gents. I am building a 1/5th scale pica spitfire. The only spinner I can find that is close is a p-51 spinner. I am running a DA-50 for power with a 22/8 prop. I have found some nice pilots since but open to suggestions please.

Have you tried Yellow Aircraft? They sell a spinner for their 1/5 scale kit.

Moto-X, for years, I used Dave Platt 1/5 scale pilots, because with some work you can make them pretty convincing. They were the best out there. However, BEST PILOTS http://www.bestpilots.typepad.com has just introduced their 1/5 Brittish pilot , based on the real pilot, Adolph "Sailor" Malan. This Sailor Malan pilot is far and away the best I've ever seen and it doesn't look like it needs any mods, it's the correct 1/5th scale and he's already Brittish ! Good luck 'buff

The "correct" spinner depends on which Mark you're building, and how correct do you need it? you talking a Contest diplay Static spinner or a sport flying one?,
the spitfire spinner config changed much through the variants

Balsabuff, I just recieved Sailor Malan from best pilots. Too big for the Pica spit. Going to have to step back and punt on this one.

Moto-x, Sorry to hear that Sailor doesn't fit in the Pica Spitfire. If you need to return him, I'll gladly refund the purchase price. Just making sure that my customers are happy!

Thank you Fly4real. The torso and head sit good in there. I am not sure if I wan"t to grind his ass off and part of the boots to make him fit or look for something else.

If it were my plane I think I'd use him. The feet, no one really sees. The butt ah..if he mostly fits in a seat thats about the best you can do. The only thing 1/5 about the pica spit is the wingspan.

Put the pilot on the belt sander today. Still a little tight but I think it will look great.
