Default The Bleriot XI and other machines

Hi Chaps. Haven't been active on this site for yonks but a PM from a member has prompted this visit. (Thanks, Bob!)

I thought to bring you up to date on various projects so here goes...

Here are couple of pix. One of the 1/3 scale Bleriot XI and the other of a review model of the 1/4 scaleTraplet DH82A 'Tiger Moth'

...and links to a couple of videos of the Bleriot in flight - one from last year winning the scale award at a local meeting and the other flying the beast as a visitor to the Medway Club. (Thanks, Alistair !)

Been a time, ABF ! The AVRO still flys and looks even better now that she's "weathered" Have you seen the new 1/4 scale kit of the DH82A by Falcon Models? An absolute beauty!

see... http://www.falconmodels.uk.com/acata...r_Moth_21.html

I'm building it for the OS IL300 inline 4. I'll post pix later. Good to 'speak' to you again!

Don, just one small question out of curiosity. It looks like your Bleriot's propeller has the Integral company decal. Can't make out the interior but it looks like there are some flashes of red. Where did you get the artwork for this decal? I produced an image of the later German version of the Integral company logo, which appears in Bob Gardner's CD on WWI props.

The logo on my prop is from the vast collection of artwork which Dave has. Dave, a fellow club member, makes my props for me. This 28" x 7" is laminated from Brazilian mahogany & Ash.

The logo appears to be an earlier version than the one you posted. I don't know anything about the history of props or logos so I rely on Dave to come up with the correct version. He hasn't failed me yet!

You showed me yours so here's mine

Thanks. There are many different versions of the Integral logo that reflect the company's evolution from one prewar "international" company based in France to its splintering into several independent companies during the war.

Dave sounds like a very handy club-mate to have around! : )
