RE: Bare-bones beauty
Thanks for the response.
I was thinking on a closed loop system as the top wing only has the ailerons. It is still a ways down the road in my build, but I do like to think ahead.

RE: Bare-bones beauty
I really enjoy looking at my planes 'in the bones'. So much so I almost hate to cover 'em. In fact a few years back when I was getting ready to move back to the US, I filled a month building a Herr Engineering J-3 Cub which I left uncovered (except for the rudder/vetical stab), stained and it hangs over my desk. I generally take it out when we do a seminar to a willing group and folks really get a kick out of seeing the 'skeleton' along with some of our finished models.

Sweeet! Sadly, there really isn't a "bare-bones" state for my Albatros CI (since the fuselage is wood sheeted). But I suppose I could do a "bare-wings" shot!

Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser and 1926 RRG Prufling. The PA-12 is wired for lights and has a tow release. The Prufling has closed loop controls operated via rudder pedals and joystick. The servos drive the cockpit controls.

My 1/4 scale Siemens Schuckert D1. Based on the Scratch-A-Plane Nieuport 17 plans. Photo from our club's 2005 Mall Show. (Holy cow, 2005! [X(] )
Hopefully, in about 5-6 weeks my 1/4 Albatros DIII will make similar debut.
My (aprox 1/5 scale) Fokker EIV. Kit bashed from the BUSA EIII (90) kit.
Both the SSWD1 and EIV are strictly fun scale.

That first shot.......................
Just beautiful, perfect angle. And of course a beautiful model.
Just a question Hammered; Did you use one of my redraws for your compass? It's looking perfect [8D]

Good to see that the faceplates are used where they are meant for in a very proper way [8D]
How did you make the housing for the compass?
