Here's a little test to see how the photos are displaying today. *** Yeah, it's WEIRD and it SUCKS! The photo starts to expand as with the java applet, then sort of jumps into a new window (which replaces the old forum window). This is awful.

RE: Frickin' messing with the forum again
I must be missing something. I have no problems with photos, and I don't know what blue bands you guys are talking about. Perhaps those that have issues have issues with your desktop/laptop op system.

On the engines, I think they are custom-refitted jobs. There are a few videos of people doing this on YouTube.

I am using firefox and haven't seen any changes?

For me RCU is a great place to hang out and post questions (and answer questions when I can). But for extended build threads (as I've been doing lately) RCSB is probably more suitable.

RE: Frickin' messing with the forum again
I noticed a few weeks ago that I can no longer use the arrows on the picture-viewer. I have to "open" / expand each thumbnail one-at-a-time.
And now, as mentioned above, I need to hold down the ( control ) key when I click on a picture or else it will open / expand in a seperate window and then use the ( back-arrow ) to close and return.
As far as the blue bands or borders around each post.....I've not seen that yet.
Screenshot of what I'm seeing. Nothing else different other than the afore mentioned thumbnail viewing.
...so far.
Ken.

When I first saw your post, that's exactly what I saw. But then I closed Firefox and reopened the thread and THIS is what I saw.

Wow, that is bizar. I've never seen those blue "bars" before. That would also give me pause.
I'm using I.E.8 on XP...btw.
The past couple days I've been getting alot of error messages as I log-off or simply nav/away from one site to another. Could be my browser. I delete all cookies and temp files after each-and-every session.
I'm no expert. Just trying to make my system last as long as I can.[]

"Here we go again ... that web designer at RCU is messin' with the site again ... "
They get paid, and have to justify their existence, no matter what we think; how it impacts us; and it is entirely personal.
I once got really ambitious and started designing my own site. It is sooooooo easy to get carried away with everything you CAN do:-(((((((((((((((

I don't think these changes are about "creative choices" on the part of some "web designer." It looks like a simple case of some overworked (and probably underpaid) IT guy installing a software update.

All this makes me want to click on pictures less than I used to. RC Groups has the picture system down, which is why I find myself on their site more often now.

RE: Frickin' messing with the forum again
When I click a thumbnail picture it grows to full size right over the forum page. And then when I reclick the expanded picture (anywhere on the pic) It shrinks back to a thumbnail.. the forum text and page never changes... i am running a firefox add-on called no-script.. maybe that is changing things...

I checked RCU on my IPhone at lunch and it was 2009. All the threads were old. Refreshed and all was good. Strange. Leading off was Abuflecher's Nieuport 11 thread.

It's like my club introducing 'start up areas' instead of starting in the pits.
Lots of people moaned, it seemed a little strange at first but after a few
weekends using them you get used to them & start to realise that the
idea is actually an improvement.
'messing' with the forum is just trying new ideas, no big deal for me.
Blue bars? If someone hadn't posted screen shots it would still be a
mystery for me. - John.

What the?
Just logged on & there they are, the blue bars!
Perhaps RCU saw my post & thought: Can't have him missing out!
John.

I've got the blues [:'(]
Blue is trendy now, the "other" site made some changes a while ago, they've put some blue on their pages BUT NOT in BETWEEN the POSTS!!! it defies any logic, i guess this site felt like it had to put some blue also... somewhere

Guys, I don't know much about all this foreign blue bars, stripes and curves that you guys all seein theforum- but when I close my bushtelegraph browser, and open it up again I see the curves and blue below - so being a practical guy, I guess I'm doing ok......
Cheers
